We orginally had another video planned but things fell through. We decided to change it up and head to the sky in something we thought would be fun to revisit... the XF5F Skyrocket. This unique prototype has ties to the XP-50 and the F7F Tigercat. Pretty neat lineage.

It's just amazing they squeezed so much performance out of such a compact plane. Compare its size/performance to planes like the Whirlwind, Ki-45, and G-1. Would have been interesting to see it escorting long-range strikes off of the carriers in the pre-43 days of the Pacific War.

Sadly, it only has its Test armament of 2x 50s & 2x 30s. To truly be a menace, it needs its later armament of 4x 50s...or its original proposed armament of *2x 23mm Madsen cannon!*
