A Historic Whare on Kapiti Island! 

I went to Kapiti Island recently, just off the western coast of the lower North Island. The island has a long and storied history from Māori pā, Te Rauparaha's invasion, the introduction of mammalian pests and subsequent eradication. This house is where many of the Department of Conservation rangers now live, one such ranger being a rather famous man!
