Thank you for the video on Telechron! You might also be interested in looking into Laurens Hammond and his spin-start clocks. Before Telechron added the power interrupt indicator on the dial, one would never know if the power went out overnight because upon arising, the clock would still be running. But, if you had a Hammond clock, if the power went out at say 4 am, the clock would still be stopped at 4 am when you woke up, so Hammond customers always knew when the power was interrupted. So, Warren added the power interrupt indicator or "red flag" so that people would know the power had been out and not have to buy a Hammond clock. After Hammond stopped making clocks, Warren kept the fault indicator on his clocks because it just made sense. 😁
They are truly marvelous clock, with great designs on many of them including exotic woods and high quality materials used in making the clocks. No clock today can compare with the beauty of an original Telechron Clock.
The fact that most of these clocks will run just fine 80, 90 years later, whereas you’re lucky if you get more than 5 years out of a cheap made in China quartz clock today speaks for itself.
You should also look at the Telechron company's timers and their use during (explosives) and after (stoplight timers across the US) WW2. Oh, and the enduring "60 cycle hum"!
Awesome video. As one who repaired a Tela-Alarm Jr not too long ago, with very little information on the clock itself, it's nice to have some more info on it. Also, Henry Warrem's story is facinating.
