I'm allergic to pines and I sneeze constantly when there's a real tree in my house. Therefore I have either an artificial tree or a large poinsettia to celebrate with.

As a single older person I use faux trees that are flocked and I use real wreaths and swags throughout my home for the scent which I couldn’t do without.

Oh Vivienne.... I'm so sorry this has happened. Especially during your most favorite time of year. What a blessing to return home before Christmas day. Over the last several months I've been caring for my mother. She broke her tibia a few weeks after my dad died. During this time, as you all can imagine, I've been enjoying all of the wonderful château channels to escape reality several times each day. You and your family have been so terribly missed. So much so I went back to watch last years videos again. We knew you, Simon, Isabelle, or someone close to you was dealing with a serious enough issue to keep you recording and posting your favorite vlogs. Two days before Christmas mother got sick. She ended up staying in bed. My siblings and their families gathered elsewhere. It just didn't feel like Christmas at all this year. Particularly since I've not been home for months. Like Vivienne I go all out for Christmas. Neighbors and friends have been reaching out with concern seeing the house completely naked this year. With Thanksgiving so early I had even more time to perfect this year's displays. As the saying goes...there is always next year. I so relieved and grateful, with proper emergency care, you will have another Christmas to enjoy and wow us all over again. I honestly wanted a do over this year. Mother quickly shut that down. Why yes, there have been a few times I've day dreamt of silencing criticism with a pillow. Fleeting moments of course. Haha Despite the lackluster Christmas we and literally tens of millions of others had, I was and continue to be grateful for the all the blessing I and my family have. In addition to my health, there is always plenty to eat, a warm bed, and the love of many, to name a few. It has been many years since I've spent this much time with mother. I am truly blessed and grateful. This I pray your recovery in full is near completion. Happy New Year to all of you! Christmas season 2023 is right around the corner in just 330 days. Cheers!
