They really expect us to buy a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn after they gave away the original game for free during the pandemic and even patched it to run at 60fps.
LoU Remake and Horizon Remaster is honestly showing us how bare bones Sony's plans for exclusives are for this generation. Honestly at this point I'm just expecting most of the PS5 exclusives aren't going to show up until the very end of this generation
To seemingly play devil’s advocate, it’s not as bad as you’re makin’ it sound, but it’s definitely not the best optics for Sony’s first party output. Demon’s Souls, Rift Apart, Returnal [GREAT game], and Spider-Man 2 are great, but I thought there would have been more strictly PS5 output and less cross-gen. I can’t complain too much tho ‘cause I still have a massive backlog.
the videogame industry needs another crash. Remakes, remasters, over priced games, over priced consoles, over priced controller, over priced game addons...Time for a total "reboot"..
If I had a dollar for every Switch 2 leak and rumour, I'd have enough to buy a small country. Also, it still irks me that Rockstar still mentions L.A. Noire, Midnight Club and Max Payne when there hasn't been a new mainline entry to those games in years. Yeah, I know the remasters of Max Payne are coming but when those are coming out we don't know.
and they mention GTA 5 as their most recent success and stuff which was 11 years ago instead of red dead redemption 2 that is more recent...and that was 6 years ago...
Ironically, the first game on I played on my PS5 was Horizon Zero Dawn, and I thought it looked great. I really don't get these trends on releasing remastered versions of games that still look and play great.
Why not get Ps5, we got: Remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn, a Ps4 game Remaster of Spiderman 2018, which is on Ps4 Remasters of Tlou 1-2, which you can play on Ps4 Horizon Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, and Miles Morales all also being on Ps4 Grand Turismo 7, also on Ps4 Third parties like Elden Ring and Persona 3 Reload, also on Ps4
Do people really say Nintendo only has Mario? What about Xenoblade, Metroid, fire emblem, and animal crossing. Mario is also so many things from 2d and 3d platformers to racing and fighting games.
@@ninetendopesaitama2107 I think astrobot is fine, it feeds off nostalgia but other than that it's fun. I just can't wait for final fantasy to go day and date some day.
Genuinely, why would Nintendo reveal a new console not due out until next year before this year's Holiday season? They already announced a holiday bundle (same as every year). I'd like to be proven wrong, but it doesn't make sense to me right now unless something changes.
@@MyManJFKTV I can live with a Silent Hill remaster after 25 years but c’mon a 5-6 year old game that, despite being last gen, plays perfectly well on PS5.
the Zelda Oled was leaked in December 2022 but it was officially revealed until April 2023 so "Switch 2" can be leaked now and Nintendo still waits till early next year to officially reveal the new console
@@Scott... TOTK was "ready" almost a year before it came out, but they did the right thing and spent a year on polish. It's pretty amazing how well the game runs considering the Switch hardware. If only they had put that much polish into the fusing/gear/sage UI.
It probably will. People seem to love those Lego games while people are tired of playing remasters. Especially remasters of games that aren't even old games.
Square is losing money because they are spending over half a billion dollars to remake a ps1 game in 3 pieces over ten years. Yea, its not going to recover that cost.
It must be wild to think how far you've come along with this channel. I remember how small SpawnWave was back then and to see where you at today Covering the same news almost 10 years later is very impressive stuff. Congratulations dude. And thank you for allowing us to be part of this journey. SpawnWave 4 Life!!
Nintendo doesn’t want another Wii U, so it won’t be surprising if the next console is a Super Switch, I still don’t think we will get a release until late 25 at the least
Square Enix always have too high of expectations for their games. I still get them everytime because I love their games. Even when they make a profit they always say that it didn’t meet expectations.
@@MyManJFKTV still I almost always get their games. I especially get the HD-2D style turn based games by them. I just absolutely love the art design in those. About to play my first ever Dragon Quest game. Dragon Quest 11 and then the Dragon 1, 2 and 3 HD-2D Remakes when they come out.
It’s pretty simple their expectations is to total revenue - development + marketing costs. Their major titles are very expensive and they expect it to sell like AAA games of the same caliber in terms of cost but it instead sells only the same as a normal successful JRPG which are typically MUCH cheaper to make.
@@Duckman8213 - Same here. It’s just that they always exaggerate their projections to where they always “fail.” I think they just do it to get more money from shareholders, but it bites them in the donkey almost every time.
That would make me worried as an investor. Nothing ever meets expectations, which makes me think they don't have realistic goals. That is the kind of thing that leads to overblown budgets and trend chasing.
You can tell just how bad SE is at the video game business when they can’t get Final Fantasy to meet expectations… Sega, Sony, Nintendo, Capcom could all make Final Fantasy meet expectations if given the chance. Come on SE
I mean their expectations is for FF to sell lifetime 10M+ consistently in line with other AAA titles since they spend around the same as most. That being said I can’t even name a single JRPG franchise that even manages 5M+ consistently so it’s pretty unrealistic. All they should be doing is making sure all games are on ALL major platforms day one. That’s the only way they can maximise sales.
Adding on to what other dude said. Every FF falls short of expectations according to SE, because they set the bar so damn high, and then only release the game on PlayStation for the first year. So of course they are going to miss expectations.
If they didn't constantly change the series for the worse it probably would sell well. Less action RPG button masher More menu based fighting. Less femboys. More masculine men.
>Throws billions upon billions of budget, including some wasted money on ethics dept and SBI >>Complains there's no profit Squeenix having stonks moment after stonks moment
The Horizon franchise is cursed to play second fiddle by a groundbreaking game. Breath of the Wild did it with Zero Dawn, and Elden Ring did it with Forbidden West.
Square just doesn't know how to set expectations, I'm sure even if they go multi-platform they will increase their expectations because they're on more platforms. Unless they change something internally this will never stop.
Us older guys: can we get a remaster of Final Fantasy 7? Square: so we're going to take your favorite game and split it into 3 different games($$$) and we're going to push it through two different consoles generation. People: yeah, no thanks, I'm going to go play the original.
I see all these remasters and stuff coming out, meanwhile I just really want the Ape Escape trilogy to be remastered :( Toys for Bob, I'm begging you...
Pretty much all 3rd party games updates from ps4 to ps5 are free...it's only greedy Sony that charges 10 bucks or full price for their 1st party ps5 versions.
Nintendo really going to stick with the horrible joy-cons Looks like we're still going to need Satisfye & other companies like Hori to make a better replacement option
@@BansheeN0rnin my opinion you should buy the base ps5. Because the performance upgrade is not that much. İf you want it go for it but ı dont think its worth it.
I'm with you on this one because most likely you won't be able to play switch 2 games on the vanilla switch. But you can play everything on a ps5. No one really needs a ps5 pro it's just a want.
Here are some exciting news: Pyoro has made two cryptic posts on Twitter today, the first ones since his exposure 3 months ago. Why now? Is he implying something is gonna happen today? I feel like today is the last chance Nintendo can make any move regarding the Switch 2, otherwise its gonna be early-mid October. They kinda have to do it today though, why else did they move forward a Indie Direct and Partner Showcase and glue them together?
Bro if you are expecting Switch 2 reveal this year, you are delusional. Best case scenario, they will show on December after shopping season. They have very aggressive targets for Switch, and announcement will muddy the water. The reason why Switch announced on October because Wii U was already dead.
@@paul-nj1ig First tweet was “rah”, second tweet was around 2 hours later saying “pih.” Perhaps they’re gonna finish with “dlee” like rapidly? Could be some other code that we don’t understand yet.
I'm pretty sure all these "unnecessary remasters" are a result of the 5+ year dev time of modern AAA games. The studios need revenue in between new releases. Plus, it's a great way to not lay off employees. Don't have work for your 3d modelers yet because the new game is still early? Put your artists to work on a remaster. Everyone wins.
What surprised me yesterday is that people didn't seem to understand the obviously untextured CAD 3D models, were 3D models? Yes, those 3D models don't debunk the leak. The original source clarified that he made them based on the prototype he has, but I thought it was pretty clear from the start that he made that model to better show the prototype, since all he could take a picture of was the back with the PCB and prototype Joycons.
If you can't optimize a game using the hardware that is currently on the market to have it running buttery smooth then I think you need to rethink your career path. Because there is No excuse as to why games should be having frame rate issues and stuttering in this day and age. We aren't in the days of the NES where putting too many sprites on screen would create massive slowdown. It's laughable that a console has to have a "Performance" mode toggle to try and get a game running smoother.
The Final Fantasy games certainly look really bad. But why is it the consumer that has to pay for this mistake by buying new hardware? This is on Square Enix and their wrong decisions that they made by not choosing the proper performance/visuals ratio.
Nothing will make me purchase the PS5 pro. Every game plays on PS5 so I see no reason plus, ooh it makes it look nicer, that's not a good reason to pay for another PS5 at a higher price.
Switch 2 images look fake. Some of the apparent features make sense? Sure, not difficult to guess. But they look rendered, inconsistent, impractical. Way too thin in one image, way too thick in another. It's all over the place.
One thing I’ve seen floating around is the idea that the Switch 2 preannouncement will be announced in the evening (I guess in the US) because “that’s what the first Switch did”. I always doubted that would be the case since Nintendo was really bad at timing announcements and events back then, at least on an international basis. Over here in the UK directs used to happen in the middle of the night, but now they happen in the late afternoon. My bet is that if anything gets announced, it’ll probably follow the same direct time patterns.
Mario Paint was my most played game on the SNES. My sister and I would spend hours making songs, splatting bugs, and coloring in the drawing of Mario and Yoshi. Maybe one day we’ll get a new entry!
There's this accessory that lets you rotate the switch and play DS/3DS games more comfortably. I'm hoping Nintendo is thinking about bringing 3DS games to their library with a solution like that, and maybe even the 3d capabilities.
Part of me is actually curious about this Horizon remaster! The cutscene character animations were VASTLY improved in Forbidden West, so if those have been upgraded, I'd be very tempted. Like, staring stoic faces to full body motion. Going back, they all look so stiff now.
The Horizon franchise is cursed to play second fiddle by a groundbreaking game. Breath of the Wild did it with Zero Dawn, and Elden Ring did it with Forbidden West.
@@albert.- True as that may be, BOTW released at pretty much the same time as HZD and was the talk of the town for that whole period…then the same thing happened with HFW. It was even worse with HFW.
Square Enix just needs to deliver more consistency. It’s hard for the actual good games like FFXVI and Rebirth to balance the books while they’re simultaneously releasing flops like Babylon’s Fall, Foamstars, Avengers, and Forspoken.
The fact that ff16 on PC only sold 22k on opening day, I don’t think SE will be making up whatever expectations they have. No amount of sales will make up their stupid decision making that led them to the position they are in now.
The only 4-player games for the SNES that I can remember are Saturday Night Slam Masters, Super Bomber Man 2, and NBA Jam (tournament edition... I think?). Oh and possibly one of the TMNT games.
Nintendo not taking advantage of recent competitors failures in order to boost its own next gen console tells me two things… Either Nintendo are reading the room wrong, or they don’t have the games ready to make an announcement! Very suspicious to me…
They want to make Aloy’s face equally puffy and unattractive in the original, so the games match. Sony clearly want Horizon to be a mainstream, multimedia franchise. They want casual gamers to be able to walk into a Best Buy and see both titles on a shelf with a PS5 logo and for both games to have the same visual fidelity. They’re thinking about more like a movie franchise, which I’m sure is I. The works over at Sony pictures. The whole reason for making Horizon Lego Adventures is to introduce the franchise to a more mainstream audience. I imagine they probably ace a mobile tie-in in development and maybe a YA novel series.
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of multiple games Sony gave away for a limited time in 2020, I got it alongside Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, and a few smaller games, all for free in 2020.
To be fair HZD could benefit from improved conversation cutscenes on par with HFW but that's absolutely not worth a whole remaster. If they even adjust those at all.
If that switch 2 leak is legit, I couldn't have asked for better. It's just a bigger, better version of their best console. Don't rock the boat when it's sailing so smoothly.
called it. over a tear ago. Sony was messing up sales for not only square but any of these third party companies that get these exclusive deals. its a no brainer make your product available and at a price point that masses can buy it without a loan
I actually bought Mario Paint before I bought my SNES. It was my first SNES game purchase and I loved that game. Before I bought it, my friend and I would rent Mario Paint and an SNES from Blockbuster and stay up all night making animations on it.
Aloy is one of the better character in gaming in recent years, I haven't played the 2nd one, but Zero Dawn was AMAZING!!! People not liking her or not interested in her are most probably because they didn't played the games
No they keep changing her character which is why in the first one she was pretty and straight in the second one she was uglier and a lesbian plus the first game is on steam and already playable on PS5 so it's not necessary to remaster it
I don't understand the appeal of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Its a predictable story, the typical retelling of By the Waters of Babylon. The voice acting is awful. The girl that voices Alloy oversells it and everyone else is flat. Lance Riddick was great, I'll be fair. They didn't hire him to NOT be Lance Riddick. Its basically an Ubisoft game except this time the towers you climb MOVE. Combat was fine, but most the weapons you got were pointless and it left me wondering why I couldn't just use any arrow I wanted on a given bow. I saw people praising it for what equates to limb damage which was done by Metal Arms: Glitch in the System in the PS2 era. But its pretty. So all its flaws get a pass.
Pretty sure the pitch was just “robot dinosaurs” and it worked. The story was fine to me, but you're right it's similar to a Ubisoft game, which will either appeal to you or it won't. I enjoy quite a few of those fight/upgrade/fight again games from Ubi, just depends on what the premise is and robot dinosaurs was appealing enough for me. Aloy isn't really a good enough character to be a “PlayStation icon” or anything, which they are clearly trying to do though.
it trully pains me to see both SONY and MS doing the best they can to demolish the console market. As much of a pc fan as i am, consoles are essential to have for the gaming community.
It was more like PlayStation BRIBING Square Enix into accepting large amounts of money to keep Square Enix Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth from Xbox, I Will Forever Think That When 3rd Party Publishers Do Not Have Certain Games For ALL PLATFORMS made then it means that they were BRIBED!!!!!
A legend of dragoon remake or sequel/remake of rouge galaxy would be freaking amazing. I don't think we need a remaster of a game that's not even a decade old, It doesn't even look bad.
