I'm slightly disappointed with the performance of my previous electrolytic hydrogen generator, so we build another one, with a higher efficiency, a smaller form, and an increased rate of hydrogen production.
We make the thing with a bunch of old PVC pipe, an acrylic/fabric separator, some nickel electrodes, and a whole lot of sealant.
Ultimately, it works better than expected, with a 30% NaOH electrolyte we can put 5 A through the cell at 3.3 V (giving around 2 L of hydrogen per hour), or over 10 A at 5 V (giving around 4 L of hydrogen per hour).
