My husband introduced me to McBride last year. I loved Song Yet Sung and The Color of Water. Still have a few more to read.

I'm exactly the same with authors I love. Each becomes a reading phase all their own. I've not yet read any James McBride, but you explained the value of his works well. I'll be checking him out!

I am a big fan of McBride too. I loved Heaven and Earth Grocery. I thought it was brilliant. I don’t think I knew it was being made into a movie. That’s wonderful! I also loved Deacon King Kong and his memoir, The Color of Water. Great job reviewing James McBride, Mikal!
