The league can barely figure out whos making the jerseys , when they are available, and when to show designs to the public ,always leaked way before release
@@THEGDB Yeah but its way easier to leak shit then keep it locked tight. it only takes one person in the design, Manufactoring or shipping of the jersey to leak it.
True. He understands the history of the teams and has logical opinions. Except he likes the ugliest Kings jersey ever. So he just can't design the Kings jersey.
I second the Atlanta Flames jersey. Especially because the Flames could work a jab into the marketing and say that A is for Alberta, which I am sure Edmonton fans would just love too.
I won an authentic zetterberg of that winter classic off eBay about 5 years ago and it's what got me starting my jersey collecting. Only up to 12 jerseys but it was the start all the same.
That blues Jersey has always been once of if not my favorite blues jersey. I loved the Navy and the arch behind the blues logo just set it so well. A white version would be great also!
Hey THG, if you don’t want to do another jersey countdown, how about showing us just the new additions and maybe fashion/practice/all-star jerseys for each team? That‘d be fun! Anyway, thanks for all the content you produce!
YK since you bring up the Thrasher one - would the burgundy Thrasher alternate work, use a top-view fighter jet outline? EDIT: what about the Kings coat of arms sweater in purple and gold?
Had Atlanta Flames season tickets in late 70's while in college and thought jerseys and logo were outstanding. Glad to see Calgary Flames go back in the past few years to the original uniform style of course with the Flaming "C"
I love the first Vegas retro too. I walked into Vegas Sports and Hockey right after it came out in December 2020, saw the Stone jersey, and bought it on the spot because they couldn’t hold it longer than that night and all would be gone by the weekend. Got the C put on the next month when he became captain. No regrets!
Nothing against Atlanta, but as a Winnipeg fan I consider Atlanta Thrashers’ history being completely separate (notwithstanding the obvious franchise ties). In Winnipeg we honour the Jets history, including the pre-Coyotes Jets and the WHA Jets (regardless of NHL approval or not).
Some these jerseys should be the teams current primaries. I always loved that black & eggplant Anaheim wordmark alternate. I wish the Kings would go back to their late 90s early 2000s jerseys. Also the screaming eagle Caps jerseys were fire.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: they should do retro jersey nights where both teams wear retro jerseys. Like a home and away series between the Habs and Bruins wearing old time jerseys. The Rangers and Islanders wearing the white Liberty and the blue Fisherman. The Canucks wearing a cream Millionaires jersey against the Seattle Metropolitans. My only concern would be with Utah: my original plan when the Yotes were still around was for them to play the Jets with both teams wearing 1980's Jets jerseys for maximum chaos
I’m a simple guy, I see a THC jersey related video, I click As a Buffalo fan, I totally agree that the Goathead should stay the alt. Royal blue and gold is our all time look, the Goathead as a 3rd is perfect. I would love to see the original white Goathead brought back in some way…Stadium Series maybe? 🤔 I’m rooting for a Thrashers return so hopefully they return and bring that logo back 🙏
San Jose should be forced to give up their losing abomination of a team. Atlanta needs a team, so does AZ. Would be a somewhat decent roster to start fresh and hopefully see the team win more than 9 games in 20 years 😎
@@winkletown8828 that’s ridiculous. The Bay Area is a vital sports market. It’s Houston and Atlanta next and that’s it. As much as my heart breaks for Coyotes fans it just didn’t work out
That Caps stadium jersey with the spread eagle was primo. They knocked that one out of the park. I haven't hopped on to buy a jersey that fast before in my life as when I saw that one.
Blues fan since 1968. I always wondered why their white uniform didn’t mimic their red uniform with a contrasting wide horizontal stripe. I agree - that blue horizontal stripe frames their iconic C-H perfectly. It also gives an extra splash of color on a relatively boring white jersey.
That is my favourite of all the Coyotes sweaters. Hope they get their team back eventually, though I 1000% agree with the move to UT being the best for the players and the NHL right now.
I would argue the rangers current third jersey is debatably a throwback to that 70s design since it’s the only time (minus the winter classic in 2012) the shield has been on a jersey.
Shannon, regarding that Blues jersey with the Arch that you like so much, that jersey was in use with the previous ownership group, and once the new owners took over (in 2012 IIRC), that third sweater was phased out, and the current owners don't want any reminders of that era of the Blues. So, I wouldn't hold your breath : )
“Don’t skip ahead!! Eyes up here!!” Epic!!😂😂 As a long time Flyers fan, I hated that 3d logo then, still hate it now. Please bury that in your yard and let nature take care of it. I’d LOVE a Vegas RR1.0 in black! Sexy doesn’t begin to describe it! Great video, Sir!! I love your jersey ones especially.❤
Wow, that's literally the first time I saw a Washington jersey that I liked. Yeah, go back to it! For me it is clear that what Ottawa should go back to is the "O" with the 1920's style stripes.
I always loved that Blues jersey. I have a Berglund and Oshie one. Was sad as a kid when they stopped wearing it. My CHEL team would always have that as its home jersey
I hope Seattle brings back the Winter Classic jersey. I wanted to get it but I could only find Fanatics Breakaway versions and I don't like using ebay.
That era of Kings jerseys are possibly the best or second best only to the OG purple and gold colours. That coat of arms crest needs to come back and so does the purple!
the secondary logo for Vegas has a much bigger connection to the city, and a black version of that jersey with the logo would look amazing. (Or the steel grey, since they swapped out the home colors.)
When I was a little kid, I really loved the one stripe Atlanta thrashers jersey! I also think that the Islanders fisherman jersey was not as bad as hard-core fans made it out to be. I really thought it was unique, even for the time!
Random thoughts in order of appearance: - Not sure about the yellow Boston jersey but I would like to see their white jersey go back to the striping it had in that same '60s era, particularly the yellow yoke instead of black. - Proof that the coyote is yawning: just the sight of that logo triggered my yawn reflex. And this isn't my way of saying it's boring, because I actually like it. I just actually felt like yawning when I saw the open mouth - The Jets could adapt that Thrashers look by putting "That's it, back to..." on the right sleeve, "Winnipeg" on the left sleeve (viewer's right) and a logo based on the angry dad who cancels the trip to Cape Canaveral but mimicking the overall shape of the Thrashers logo. Or maybe instead of a bird with a hockey stick it could be Nelson slapping that guy from the car window. - The the white version of the Wings jersey is pretty much perfect as is. I might actually like to see the red one have a white yoke or some kind of white striping in the shoulder area just to break things up, because the red pants plus the red socks plus the red jersey is just kind of too much red. Sacrilege, I know. Just trying to think about small changes that could work. - I know, I know. Nobody likes the '70s Rangers shield jerseys, but...I kind of always have. I would hate for them to become the primary ever again but maybe as a one-off or a rarely seen alternate. Would also be an occasion for the Rangers to wear different pants, which basically never happens. 2016 Stadium Series (red with no stripes) would probably be the only example I can even think of since the '70s jerseys went away. That's all I've got.
I’m a Bruins fan, but currently my Be A Pro player got drafted to Vancouver lol, and I found that I actually really like the white version of the ‘06 jersey with the blue and red stripes.
Love that Blues jersey! Technically, a white version does exist! Their AHL affiliate at the time, the Peoria Rivermen, wore a white third jersey that was sort of a white version of that navy jersey! The arm stripes are the same as that blues jersey, but instead of the waist stripes being the same, the jersey got a bit of the Reebok effect. The crest of the jersey was a wordmark that said "RIVS" and the shoulder patch was similar to the arch logo but it featured the Peoria skyline instead. I hope a real white version of that arch jersey is released some day, it'd look very nice!
About your idea where they send teams to their old cities, that might work.. Atlanta actually had a "Thrashers" night recently, and it completely sold out, but that's just one night. If it would work long-term, that's what the NHL would still be unsure of. I like this idea for new cities that have never had a team, and can potentially support a franchise for a long time!
That "pedestal" on the Flames jersey is not a pedestal. It's a Corel Photopaint glitch that nobody bothered to fix before they mailed the mockup to Taiwan.
Love that Anaheim jersey, would like to see Philly do a take on the quakers jersey, those are out there, think it was thought they would do it for one of their outdoor games but they didn’t.
I think black purple and white of both the Ducks and the Kings were great. I think that the only reason they didn't endure were that the rivals had those jerseys at the same time, so they changed their look to be distinguished from each other.
Hey Shannon I like the Pittsburgh jersey and I have only seen 1 with the darker blue. It was in a display case at the Pittsburgh airport and wanted to take it home with me. Unfortunately I was with my cousin who is a police officer and couldn't talk him into looking the other way😢
Old Blues fan since 1968 here. Even as a teenager back then, I always thought that adding the Gateway Arch behind The Blue Note was a great idea. Many years later they actually did it. My version, however, only had The Note and The Arch. No circle around it. No word mark. I suppose you could go with just the one gold circle around it, but that’s all you really need. Most word marks on hockey jerseys are unnecessary, superfluous, and distract from the graphics. Also, the dark navy blue is the wrong shade. The Blues standard royal blue is perfectly fine.
The Rangers have a ton of options. The 1926 jersey is great. They could also go with the 80's road jersey with NY across the chest and the straight nameplate.
The Seattle Metropolitans jersey is available. Not sure who makes it but the HockeyWolf/LacrosseWolf store next to the Kraken practice facility sells them. Unknown if it’s available online.
That Buffalo jersey is cool. I have a feeling the next thing they bring back is the Buffaslug 🤦🏼♀️, but I wouldn’t mind the textured Buffalo jersey coming back
I would love to see a montreal Jersey with the same writing and logo from your new era baseball cap. The one with the Blue Maple Leaf with the White C in the center, and the CANADIENS name sake in traditional colors. I also own that hat, of the best looking hats in my collection. It's very similar to the CAC Maple Leaf logo. I believe the Maple Leaf was Green in the original version. "Christmas Jersey".
Soooooo bring it back in white lol as a Montreal fan I liked there first reverse retro jersey the darker blue one , second one was more of an expos jersey .
I don’t like all your picks, but I guess that’s to be expected because fashion is such a particular, individual thing. And I do like a lot of your pics. I definitely agree about the Buffalo and Kings ones. And on the subject of the blue on that Avs jersey, while it’s not the blue I would use, it just makes me think again about how the RR 2.0 could’ve been perfect if they had used the main Avs blue, because it already looks enough like the blue on the Colorado flag. I can’t understand why they went dark navy. But I sure would love to see that jersey brought back again anyway.
