This series has to be the best playoff hockey we’ve seen in a very long time. Two teams playing at their peak, trading game-for-game. Exceptional stuff to watch.
The competitive athletes I met often said “play well” at the beginning of matches, because they wanted the sweet victory to be against the opponents best play.
On the "For Broadcasts" discussion: I should be able to pick my view angle while watching the game. How come in this day in age, I'm stuck watching whatever the broadcasters are pointing me at. Give me an NHL pass premium option where I can choose which angle I'm watching from like I'm there. Maybe even let me do my own angles during challenges or reviews of plays on my phone or something.
Clearly there is a gray area with delay of game because Skjei clearly pitched one straight over the boards and they reviewed it and chose not to call it.

5:4, 4:3, 4:3, 3:2, 3:2 Nucks, Oils, Nucks, Oils, Nucks I'm seeing a pattern. If the pattern holds, next game 2:1 Oiler win, followed by a 2:1 Canucks win in game 7.
What a wild game. Really thought this was destined for the Canes when Martinook saved the goal. They seemed to run out of gas and Rangers turned up the heat. It was such a different game he last 15 minutes of the game. That was a legendary game for Kreider. Just seemed destined to score those goals. Canes gave it all but they just didn’t execute.
Well I’ll say this after all the rangers haters talking trash the last three months and saying they were a paper tiger and how the big bad canes were gonna do ABC , so taking out the trash felt good !

I couldn't watch or listen to the game. I'm actually home now but we had a scheduled power outage between 9 PM and 3 AM so no game, no nothing (sigh). I mean even sports bars were shut down due to power disruption. Going just from the stats Vancouver shot more, hit a LOT more (more than double), and won a lot more faceoffs. Neither team's PP was firing but PK's were both 100%. The rest was basically irrelevant and the level of stats I post. The goal with 33 seconds to go by Miller sealed the deal for a Canucks win. As near as I can tell Pickard played great but the rest of the team didn't. Oilers must now win the next 2 games to move on to round 3. Take care all.
Gotta feel bad for Drai right now. 21 points in 10 games and it's STILL not enough. 98 points in 59 playoffs games, not enough. Congrats Vancouver, I'll be rootint for you for the next (hopefully) two rounds!!
Definitely disagree with #10. The offense has an extra(sometimes 2) person, if you can't control the puck and the defense keeps clearing, that's just a bad powerplay.
As someone who was saying “canes are trash” it was just a defense mexhanism from being harassed by a bunch of 15 year olds online. Canes are NOT trash. They gave us fits.
I watched this game with friends in a Raleigh pub. Raleigh fans were super upset that Canes let this one slip away. They’d convinced themselves that a reverse sweep was all but inevitable. I’m more realistic and just like to see a good game, and that it was. Could’ve gone either way. Canes need better goaltending next season and maybe Kochetkov is it, but I have doubts.
All I’m gonna say is no game is one in the first period 60 minutes of hockey the canes played there asses off but had nothing left after 21/2 games of desperation and it showed
One that gets me is "this coach needs fired" (said coach won the Stanley Cup recently and turned said team around from mid at best to Stanley Cup contender) like as of its the coaches job to put on skates and do it himself
I think the NHL would benefit from from taking much more advantage of the customizability of online streaming. You like the commentators? There you go. You don't? they're gone. You want a puck tracker? You got it. You don't? Disparu. etc.
I never understood the we beat them so they are trash comments when it comes to the playoffs especially when its further in like the 2nd or 3rd round its like you beat a top 16 team at least and further in a top 8 or a top 4 team they are far from trash my friend ☠️
As an NYR i hate em & their fans the most BUT you’d be an idiot not to admit that in 2020 & or ‘21 they would of won the cup if they got past TB. Losing Trotz was the reason they declined. Theyre too old & slow. This isnt 2016ish when that 4th line was scary & effective all around. Lou gotta go, Roy is the right coach for em. But ppl gotta realize if it wasnt for the 2-0-1pts they’d be far out of playoffs.
Although they are not quite as good as the Canucks, the Red Wings, Griffins, and walleye also have a great back and fourth between each team. All coaching the same type of play from Toledo to Grand Rapids to Detroit.
