A Jig to Cut Corners Off of a Turning Blank 

Thanks. Made this today and it helps a great deal. On my last cut though I find it safer to simply eliminate the jig/sled and just cut on the flat if the blank.

Thanks so much for this video! I was wondering if there was something like this out there in the ethernet to show how to cut the corners off of turning blanks. I'm just a female woodturner and I knew there must be an easier way than using a chisel and a vise. I was hoping you'd have the instruction sheet here to download too. I couldn't write it all down fast enough and need to get the guys at the workshop to help me make it. I'll just have to try and draw a diagram. Definitely a time saver and tool saver. Yep, I agree with the comment below, that the last cut can be done on the flat surface of the bandsaw. Well done to all!

I think it would be safer to do that last cut flat on to the band-saws table with the fence moved over to where it needs to be.

That last set up for the small stock is too close to my fingers for me! Id rather use an hand held planer with the stock held in a vice. Or use a belt sander. I like my finger tips too much!
