This one of the best ads for the ghan and Indian pacific journeys I have seen so far. It wants to make you go straight away.

We have had two trips on Indian Pacific and one on the Ghan. Loved every minute. Travelling back to Perth with our car abroad..great.

Very well put together. I have had the privilege of using both trains every 2 years for the past 10 years. This year was the last using Red Kangaroo. Thanks GSR for showing me Australia.

Great video production. Great to see GSR advertising because GSR is owned by Acasiano an Australian owned company and it supports local business by buying from them. the trip is great and it supports my industry

Yep. I have ridden the Ghan and the Indian Pacific. On both trips I had the fabulous Crew B, who were fantastic. The journey was unbelievable, and although I usually travel with a 4WD and a campertrailer, I enjoyed totally travelling with the people on these two trains. Will I do it again??? Absolutely!!! Well done GSR. Love your work. It does get into your blood.

Just returned from 3 nights expedition on the Ghan - Gold Class Darwin to Adelaide: an amazing experience. Loved the side trips especially dinner under the stars at the old telegraph station in Alice Springs. The staff are well trained, friendly & professional. The food varied and delicious and the beds are comfortable - real mattresses! With the all inclusive price, you're not constantly dipping - into your pocket nickel & diming as the Americans call it. Highly recommend.

We journeyed Indian Pacific, Perth, Sydney, Perth, Gold Kangaroo & Platinum, many times, & Gold Kangaroo to Adelaide, Ghan to Darwin, Darwin , Adelaide, then Adelaide to Perth on the Gold Kangaroo. We even went from Adelaide to Brisbane on the Silver Spirit. Wonderful journeys, seeing so much of our country, Australia. Now on my own they provide fantastic memories.

There is no such train branded as "Silver Spirit". The Gold Kangaroo nomenclature is no longer used. It's either Gold or Platinum service.

The Kangaroo part of the names has been dropped. It's simply Gold Service and Platinum Service.

My partner and I are looking forward to our next journey on The Ghan in January, 2017 from Adelaide to Darwin. We'll be driving south from Darwin to the East Coast before Christmas and welcome the opportunity of sitting back in Gold Class, with my 4WD safely on the back (or front) and not have to endure that 3,500km return drive for once. Great promo video.

Great video. We've travelled twice on the Ghan and twice on the Indian Pacific and it has been fabulous each time. The staff are amazing and the food is superb, then there is the scenery - who could ask for more? Great to see the staff in their Akubra hats - well done!

Where are our train managers? Oops, Journey's Managers: John B, Dean D, Linley L, Deb M, Bruce S?

Regardless of all the hype the fact remains it is just a long, boring and absurdly overpriced train journey. The train spends an eternity waiting on crossing loops thanks to an inadequate single track. To take the car costs more than the passenger fare plus GSR only really want rich retirees, not backpackers, pensioners and those on a budget, this was clearly defined by their decision to do away with cheaper fares. The trip is aimed at rich old retirees who have plenty of time to gaze out the window at some of the most boring scenery on the face of the Earth. The rest of us travel by plane, cheaper, quick and no waiting on crossing loops. To relieve the boredom we suggest you take a scanner to monitor train control and the crew communications.

What a grumpy old Dingo you are, Mr Spooner. Take your idiotic comments elsewhere.
