I decided to upgrade my newly purchased A&K SVD-S spring sniper rifle only with AirsoftPro upgrade parts.
Here is the complete list of every part:
- A&K SVD rifle steel cylinder head
- Center ring for manual SVD
- Linear AEG and SVD spring 180MS
- Precision A&K SVD HopUp chamber
- Reinforced piston for manual SVD - Gen. 2
- Silencer adapter for A&K SVD
- Steel outer barrel housing for SVD
- Steel piston catch for A&K SVD spring rifle

I have done a few changes to the gun. I put on IER-hop and used a handful of PTFE tape to ensure superb air seal and remove the possible inner barrel wobble. The gun shoots a average of 176m/s (577fps) with .20g bb and it hits a man sized target 7/10 times up to a 70 m (229 ft) with .40g bb.

hey, just wondering if you are planning on shooting the upgraded version and posting a vid? it would also be awesome if you showed how you installed the hop up and how you ier hopped it. thanks!

Sorry but I have sold the R-hopped barrel with another gun. The SVD-S has only a vanilla hop up and unmodified Madbull 6.03 tightbore in it at this moment. The SVD-S is kinda forgotten project as of now... Until I get the HPA engine fitted into it. :)

hello :p nice upgrade review but i just have 2 question :) Are aeg binner barrels compatible with this hop up chamber ? and you wanna put a m180( aeg spring ?) because in belgium we used to play snipe arround 450 fps so a m130 or m140 would be great ?

Andrea D'Onofrio Yeah, AirsoftPro hop up unit is designed for AEG inner barrels and AEG hop up rubbers. (Just like the default A&K parts). You can put whatever spring into the gun (It have to be a AEG spring) and it works nicely. It works fine even with M120 spring if use .25-28 bb's. So it's all up to you what kinda power you want to put out with your gun.

+Allah Just take a long suppressor with CW and CCW thread option, use round metal file to make the suppressor front end hole bigger, put the suppressor backwards to the gun and use right threads to screw suppressor in to the barrel threads. AirsoftPro has this 310 x 55mm suppressor that has the option to use it backwards, but I don't know that does it fit the SVD barrel. It works great with type 96 sniper rifle barrels.

Hello whats it like pulling back the m180 spring?

The younger players usually just don't have the strength to pull it back and if they do, they do it the way it's not effective while in game (Keeping the gun between legs and using two hands to do it). If I use M150 spring, I can reload it with my little finger but with M180, I have to use index finger. But in generally, I don't even notice the stronger spring anymore, so it's very easy for me to reload the gun while that spring is in the gun. At the moment, I have the POM washer and M150 spring on the gun and it puts out average of 159m/s (521fps) with .20g bb.

I didn't know that a&k manufacturers SVD-Ss aren't they made by Ares?

Honestly, I don't have any clue anymore. It feels like every airsoft company rebrands other manufacturers products and sells them as their own. This is sold as A&K SVD-S, so it can be actually a A&K manufactured product from copied moulds or just a rebrand. I don't have the interest to try to dig that information out. The gun works for me, so I don't mind the brand it's sold under from.

Thanks. I reassembled my A&K SVD (no upgrades), and it looks like HOPUP(factory, new hop up bucking) is not working - no matter how I adjust screw, I cant get to straight projection, its still falling down after some 20-30meters. Any ideas? Could it be "overgreased" piston/hopup? Otherwise BB is flying pretty straight verticaly.

The A&K own hop up unit is pure trash (or at least mine was), so I upgraded it with AirsoftPro's hop up unit and it works as it should. First just clean the hop up rubber properly and install it back again. If there is any grease inside the rubber, the bb's don't get enough friction from the rubber and the unit don't work as it's intended.

It's a semi auto conversion adapter that is used with Mancraft PDiKS V3. Go check their Facebook page for more info.

so, if i were to try to hpa upgrade it, i would need the sdik conversion kit for svd and what other product? (sorry hpa noob)

If you want the semi auto HPA kit to the SVD, you will need Mancraft PDiKS V3 kit and upcoming adapter with it. The problem at this point is, that the adapter kit is still on development, so if I were you, I would wait until Mancraft starts to sell it. And with the kit, you of course need the HPA bottle, a regulator and quick release fittings.

Protip for all you SVD lovers out there: Mancraft is making a SVD adapter for their V3 HPA engine so you can fit it to spring SVD and convert it HPA AND semi auto gun! Oh joy! Check their facebook page and their shop shop-mancraft.com/en/
