A viewer sent me the NRSV Kids Study Bible with Apocrypha from Hendrickson and asked my thoughts on it. Here they are...

One reason I think they might not have an apocrypha section is that this looks like Hendrickson's standard children's Bible (which is also available in KJV and perhaps other translations). This is also probably why the Apocrypha has intros that don't match and no internal notes. The glossy inserts are probably spread out to put them between signatures. Why they're placed like they are would be a question for whoever did the layout, but my gut feeling is that whoever greenlit the production felt like the Bible would feel like it had more stuff if they weren't all in a single place.

I also wonder if the placement of inserts might make more sense in a version without the apocrypha, since that obviously interferes with your printing process and offset.
