a few quick notes: the scrying mirror alerts jimmy to your location, use it sparingly or use it on the ground floor (in the kitchen) the compass will start spinning around randomly when your standing ontop of the spirit, if you dont know where its pointing try the spirit box
Some Notes for you - Jimmy takes a bit to spawn on a floor, every time you progress in the story, he spawns faster. His spawn is also linked to his cooldown, he can't hit you THAT fast until 70% - If you have the deadlock for a room, you have two options. * Lure Jimmy in, as soon as he enters, hide in the closet, and run past the bathroom and out the door when a door closes. Locking him in after. * Lock the door, and remove the chance of being caught altogether. - Jimmy steals keys after you get bonk'd, check the desk on the ground floor. - Using the stairs is more efficient than the elevator, because he'll have a cooldown after you use them. - The store room isn't safe, if the lights go off or he sees you go in, LOCK THE DOOR. *If not, bonk.* - Maya's friends are locked in rooms 110, 111, 123(?), 305, & in a room on floor two *This is useful LATER* - Scrying mirror can alert jimmy toward you, be careful. - The compass is your guide, it will show if you are on the spot you need to be on by spinning, or if the spirit is there. - No spirit can kill you, jimmy can ONLY kill you after you let go of the box. *Useful later*
I’m glad to see you started on this game! I’d like to see you finish the rest of the game when you can! Also here’s a few tips: I recommend to only use the scrrying mirror in the kitchen located in the ground floor. Using the mirror lets Jimmy know where you are so the kitchen is more safer. The deadlock key is used to lock Jimmy in the room which can be useful. To do that, you have to call out for Jimmy in the room you have the deadlock key for and hide in the wardrobe. I wouldn’t hide in the bathroom because there’s a chance he will find you there so it’s safer to hide in the wardrobe. If he’s in the bathroom when you’re in the wardrobe, run out the room as fast as you can and quickly lock the door using the deadlock key to lock him in. He’s hiding in the bathroom if you don’t hear him taunting or calling out for you so always trust your ears and listen carefully. Very important to check all the drawers for clues you can ask the ghosts for. You’ll never know what you’ll find! Always go to areas where the lights are flickering to contact the ghosts and follow the compass. If the compass is spinning a little faster but you still can’t talk to the ghosts, try going to a different floor. If you see the circle with the 3 bars on your bottom right, remember to keep an eye on it. If it’s red, that means Jimmy is nearby. Ok these are all the tips I can give you to the best of my ability, but if I got some of these wrong let me know. It’s been a while since I got into the game. Whenever you decide to come back to this game, I wish you the best of luck on it!
Haven't finished this video but I saw this everywhere on Markiplier's channel: using the scrying mirror will summon Jimmy to your floor and makes your whereabouts known to him. 1. Jimmy can hide in rooms to trick you into a false sense of security. 2. Ground floor and basement is safe for you (like the tutorial said. 3. Dark rooms are generally a safe area? I don't believe Jimmy hides in them but don't take my word for it. 4. Jimmy can reach you in the store room. Don't assume you're safe in a store room. 5. Jimmy doesn't have a cool down on when he can get you. Markiplier's let's play proved that after being attacked almost immediately after already being attacked by Jimmy. Always assume he'll be around a corner. 6. Calling for Jimmy is useful!! Only use it when he's around but you don't know where he is exactly. He'll most likely walk by your door and you can plan an escape by doing so :) 7. Jimmy can and will check rooms. If you're in a room that you're checking intently and Jimmy is 100% around, deadbolt the door if you have the key! 8. Jimmy does not have a set pattern. He is an AI, super intelligent and will do anything to get to you. 9. The compass will float aimlessly until you're on the right floor! Then it will guide you :)
Dark rooms are only safe if Jimmy didn't see you go in though. If he sees you go in and it's dark, he will know you hid in the only visible hiding spot.

Fun to see that you're checking out this game, it's a cool one! Normally I'm not a fan of click-and-point gameplay, usually I'm like, "Why didn't they just make this free-roam?" But At Dead of Night does it so well where the click-and-point aspect makes the tension and suspense.
It’s because of the amount of places you can click on and how intense it is. Normal point and clicks are like “Click to go down whole hallway “ but this has a lot of choices.
Tips: 1. If you see a ghost appearance go where that is and do the spirt box thing 2. scry in somewhere jimmy won't show up 3. If the spirit box is loud there's a ghost nearby
This game is amazing and I can’t for the sequel! I’ll actually give you some tips! Look everywhere as soon as you spawn, keys and items can be everywhere, I’ll list the floors and rooms: All of Floor 1 Floor 2 is blacked out at the beginning of the game Room 301, 308 and 309 on Floor 3 If Jimmy is outside a room and you have the deadlock key for that room, you can lure him in, hide in a wardrobe as soon as the door opens and when you exit, listen for footsteps. If there are footsteps, Jimmy is outside, but if you can’t hear footsteps or Jimmy shouting, Jimmy is in the bathroom. You spam click to exit the room and then immediately lock it, you have a small period of time to get out of the area, you have a small part of freedom until Jimmy unlocks the door and leaves. - NEVER HIDE IN THE BATHROOM, Jimmy has a chance of kicking down the door and whacking you. Where as the wardrobe has none, but Jimmy can hide in the Bathroom. - You can find keys to the staircase on Floor 1 and Floor 2, Floor 2 including the Floor 3 key. - The chase only really starts when you activate the first sighting (Girl in the basement) Hope this helps!
Hey fuzion, calling out to him while in a room is very helpful when knowing he is near but not his exact location. Another thing is he isn't immediately on the floor you go to, it takes a few for him to reach the floor.
This is a really cool game! It reminds me of the horror movie called The Black Phone that'll be released on June 24th where a boy is kidnapped in a cell and the ghostly voices of the kidnapper's previous victims talk through a black phone to help him escape, keep playing this game!
I got 2 tips 1. The circle with the 3 lines in it on the bottom right when it turns yellow i think he gets close but when its red he sees you and u need to get away 2. When he is close you can hear a kind of breathing and a bump Hope this helps you 😁
At Dead Of Night is the most unique horror game in years. The way it's made to have real (I think) actors as the game characters instead of animated characters is incredible and definitely what dedication is
That and the fact that the ghosts themselves aren’t a threat, they’re actually your allies. The real threat is the killer, who the ghosts help you uncover the secrets about and hopefully avoid. To quote Percy Jackson: “the dead aren’t scary… they’re just sad.” So many horror games portray ghosts as scary, murderous supernatural entities, but this story shows the tragedies of the dead and that maybe they aren’t inherently bad. Ghosts, as most people believe, are simply a persons soul that remains after they die. Therefore they are not all evil or malicious. It’s such a different yet extremely effective interpretation of the supernatural horror genre that it stands out among its counterparts. TLDR: cool game mechanics and even cooler concept :)
quick notes: when the compass is spinning like crazy, it is more likely that you are at the spot to contact with spirits , spirits will only answer to the objects they are related to or related to their stories, I love your gameplays fuzion
Tips: -Deadlock keys lock the door from the inside and the outside -There's 3 lines at the bottom right corner of your screen, and if that's red, then Jimmy is near -Pretty much every door has a key -The kitchen shows what's in the mirror -There's sound cues for pretty much everything
Pro tips: 1) deadlock keys are the keys to lock the doors to their respective room, but you MUST be facing the door and OPEN your inventory. 2) the icon on the lower right (pause menu) turns red if you are spotted or in danger. 3) some ghost events DON’T trigger if you are not changing your perspective (rotating your view or looking through things) 4) the compass DOESN’T tell you which floor the ghosts are, ONLY the directions towards it. 5) always look through the peep hole (spy glass) after calling to jimmy. There’s a chance he’ll either walk past you or try to enter your room. P.S store rooms are stor-AGE rooms. Like extra space for miscellanies goods.

You have to call out for him in the hallway and he has to see you go in the room and you can’t hide in the bathroom when your in the room. You have to hide in the closet but when he opens the door you have to hide and he will fake hiding and will hide in the bathroom and you will have a chance to escape but quickly make sure you have the deadlock key for the room you are in and quickly dash for the door if he is hiding in the bathroom and then quickly leave the room and lock it if you hear banging and grunt he locked in. (I know the game was released in 2020 please make a series I love your videos )
Tip: if you have deadlock keys for any certain rooms, you might wanna trap jimmy in it if you wanna buy time, how to trap jimmy? Enter the room, be sure he sees you enter the wardrobe and he'll pretend to leave (he hides in the bathroom), next thing you do, leave the room as quick as you can and lock the door from the outside, that'll buy you 5 minutes. Tip 2: Don't always assume its safe to leave the room just because jimmy passed the room, he'll always shark you, wait till he's distant and yelling out Maya's name, thats when you leave, or! Risk it and run. Tip 3: if Jimmy is chasing you, what you do! Enter the bathroom as soon as you enter the room (any room, including dark rooms), or wanna trap jimmy? Read tip 1. When entering a dark room, you better keep your fingers crossed and hide in thr bathroom, theres a 50/50 Chance he'll bonk you or won't. Tip 4: always rely on sound use your ears to tell where he is, as stated on tip 2, you gotta hear him yell whenever he's distant. Tip 5: look at the icon at the bottom right of your screen, that will tell you when jimmy is nearby or found you, Found you: it turns red (keep away from him as fast as you can) Nearby or behind you: it turns yellow (hard to see) keep in mind, you might hear bat hitting on the walls Tip 6: reduce using the scrying mirror, that can alert jimmy of your presence of where you are, thats how he'll know where you are, use it in the kitchen if you want a hint and avoid jimmy knowing your presence. It doesn't always work but it'll confuse him where you are. Tip 7: get all the stairwell keys (except basement) and keep them unlocked, don't get bonked by jimmy or he'll lock all those doors and make it hard for you to get to the stairs. Tip 8: the items are randomized as soon as jimmy bonks your head, if you lost all your keys, thats probably why, not only jimmy takes your spirit box, be can also take keys even storeroom keys as well Tip 9: use the storeroom keys to take shortcuts to get across the hotel safetly, but heres the catch, each shorcut is hidden, if you find one, use it, but be sure to lock the door otherwise jimmy will kick the door open and bonk you (the keys are labeled, be sure its the right floor!) Tip 10: do or do not hide in the storeroom, do if you have the storeroom key, if you do, lock the door, don't investigate without locking the door or Jimmy turns off the light and kicks the door open and hits your head. (Yes Jimmy turns off the light when you lock the door and it means you're safe.) Tip 11: When the lights flicker, wait till the ghost manifest what happens first then enter the room where it originally was/used to be. Some ghost may be in the other rooms in order to progress (not all rooms!) The scrying mirror will usually tell you where to go. And always rely on the compass to tell where to go whenever its pointing, Go there and follow it! And jimmy can't bother bother you when you're in the room of the ghost, cause its due to his guilt. Last tip: each time jimmy hits Maya's head, it gets harder, the game gets harder. Avoid jimmy at all cost. Period! And oh! Before you go! By stairs, if jimmy is lurking by the stair's door when you're in the stairwell, Do not enter! Head to the ground floor use the elevator and head to floor 2 then wait as soon as he's close, head back to floor 1 or 3, your choice but do it quick, this will buy you some time but its limited. By limited, its 10-20 seconds of that distraction. That's all ^-^ enjoy the game!
Some tips- Hiding in the bathroom never works or rarely does (judging from when Mark played through it) Jimmy can also hide in them and fake leaving a room.
It does rarely work, he knows you’re in there most of the time and just “plays with his food” and leaves the room anyway, there are times he just completely misses you, you survive often, judging by the playthrough I watched, which I believe was venttex’s
Jimmy can be on any floor at any time, so you can sometimes walk around a floor without having to worry about him, you cant tell he's on the same floor as you when you hear him laughing
If you have the deadlock key for a room, if you are facing the door you can call out to Jimmy then when he is there he will be trying to open the door, when he does, hide wait a little bit while he searches the room, come out and run out of the room and try and lock the room as fast as you can if you do it before he opens it you lock him in there for a short while. Thats whats the deadlock key is for
I remember when youtubers were posting about this game! I watched Markiplier's gameplay on it and it was horrifying, for you, I believe you'll have the same experience! All I remember is how realistic it was and how scary it is, I also remember the prologue was acted out which is pretty cool! seeing this will refresh my memory.
A deadlock is a type of lock that can only be unlocked using a key when it is in deadlock mode. It consists of a keyhole on one side and a turnable knob on the other side for heightened security

Oh, this was such an amazing game!! They way they took real life acting, and the realistic game graphics, combined it and created this game, it's amazing!! Remember, the **Kitchen** is dimly lit, and is perfect for scrying, as it is on the Ground Floor, a floor Jimmy has no access to. He can find you after you have been scrying, and so using a floor he cannot access will keep you the safest. I hope you enjoy this game, Fusion!! I really enjoyed watching Markiplier play it, and you are in my top 3 favourite RU-vidrs. (Markiplier, you, then MatPat😊) I'm trying to get my boyfriend in to watching your videos. I find your videos hilarious and really good, and I want to share my interests with him, so I decided to have him watch this one. He isn't much of a horror person, but with how you act and react, how funny you are and how you make your videos, I'm sure he'll love it.
It usually takes a lil bit before Jimmy comes to the floor you're on. You can also call out to him to lure him to your position, it will help you later a lot. Also for the compass you need to be on the right floor
if he knows where you are, he will try and enter the room you are in, so you have to lock the room (yes, you can lock the room using the deadlock keys of that very room) making Jimmy look for his extra keys to open the room, buying you time to hide
Great game. Please keep playing it! By the way the dead lock keys allow you to lock the door from the inside of the room to stop jimmy from coming in. You have to physically open up your inventory in front of the door and click the corresponding key if I remember right.

Every time Jimmy catches you he takes you to a random room, the device to the first floor store room, and sometimes some of the keys you're carrying. But that's not the biggest problem: Every time you use the scrying mirror it gives Jimmy a good idea of where you are. As you learn what you need and where to go he learns where you are. It's a bad idea to use it when he's near you, or he could get you. That's why it's best to use the mirror in the ground floor kitchen, since he doesn't go on that floor. Only use it on the upper levels when you get stuck.
I love this game and the RU-vidrs I’ve seen haven’t finished the series after like two episodes so I’m glad Fusion is playing this and I hope he does it completely. Love your vids!💜
Make sure you only hide in the bathroom when the room is dark. If the light is on he has a higher chance of finding you. Hide in the wardrobe instead. And if jimmy sees you go in the wardrobe, he will hide in the bathroom and get you when you go back to the door.

I would personally recommend looking through the spyglass for a little bit longer. Just in case he is nearby and walked past your door. Also, whenever you find something new try to use the Spirit box a little bit more.

TIPS: U can look true key holes, whrn jimmy leaves ur room, look true the thingy longer, becuse he sometimes go other way, when you see jimmy hiding, go the other way and hide, when ur conpass starts to spin randomly like crazy, it means there is a spirit in that spot, always listen to jimmy, Sound is very important in here. HOPE THESE TIPS HELP U!!!
fusion to lock jimmy in a room call out to him and wait for him to try and open the door when he comes in hide in the wardrobe so he sees you go in there and wait for the cutsene to end and get out of the room as fast as you can because he is in the bathroom use the deadlock on the door and hes locked in but he can get out but it takes time good luck fusion oh and one more thing if the menu button turns red jimmy has saw you
