A Tale of my limited and frustrating experience with hunting Kingfish. Summer time in the south island brings warmer water temps and with them pelagic Kingfish make there way down the coast.
I have a breakaway on my 130 and a reel on the 120. I have shot many Kingis with the 120 and since I have the reel on it I don't let it run out much line. I immedieately brke the line with my left hand until i am sure it is off obstructions and then play it. My biggest on the reel has been 15kgs. My PB was a 27kg b but without the reel. All on the NI. Great videos, but I am not a fan of music to fill the void. Keep them coming
Very true, i have since worked out the knack for these reels a bit more as shown in my newer kingfish vids, not letting the fish have any free line is definitely key. Thanks for the feed back!
