Nice vid mate!! Props too for not giving away your spots😄 I made that mistake in the past and certainly don't recommend. That cray at the end out in the open, ya don't find many places where they do that!! All the best for the coming season, good vis and vibes man😎🤙

@jessehobby496 Yeah right😆 filmed the land marks and said it was on the south side of the peninsula, not hard to work it out.That area takes an absolute hammering from christchurch guys these days, just like every other fishery in the south island 😆

Hi, no nothing is required. You will just need to follow the fishing rules for the local area set by MPI

@shiggins1994

It probably depends where your spearing, in the Marlborough I have had luck just swimming round shallow sandy/muddy bays and just picking them up in the shallows. I've tried the burley method out a bit deeper and never seen anything.

Nothing beats time in the water as far as getting better at spearfishing. Diving with people you trust allows you to safely push the limits and improve over time 👍. I do some pool training and more recently some commercial diving which I found improved my diving very quickly.

@@shiggins1994 cheers man, I had a look around South Bay. Was nice vis and tons of crays but all undersized. Was nice just watching them though. I guess the bigger ones get taken pretty quickly in this area. Tons of cray pots and divers in the water. A really nice place to go for a dive when the vis is good.

That was amazing! We are not allowed to shoot Snapper under 40cm over here. Your fishery must be doing really well. That last fish was epic, What did it weigh in at? Great effort. I had something happen to me like that where I suspect the spear flopper must have hit the fish, or it just died of fright. I boated the fish and none of us could see where the fish had been hit, no damage could be found, but we were happy to have it aboard! Nice Video, just subbed , like your content well done!

You know little kingis grow into big kingis,???sorry but me and my diving buddy wouldn't shoot kingis that small,... Not for a trophy either,but good footage
@shiggins1994
@shiggins1994 3 года назад
I wish it was that easy, Kingfish in the south island are seasonal. The schools of kingfish that come south during the summer are smaller fish, usually upto 15kg at the most. So it wouldn't matter if I/we didn't shoot them. Personally I'm happy to take them for a feed.
@annabanna666
@annabanna666 3 года назад
You know big fish have big roe aye? Eat the little ones save the breeders . Taking big ones or trophies is ego driven crap. Take smaller ones feed the family and help the population grow by leaving the giant roe holding breeders . Our NZ fish laws a complete stupidity
