Interesting there's also a traditional Portuguese children's song similar to this one: À uma eu nasci, Às duas baptizei, Às três pedi namoro E às quatro me casei.
Although I'm not a sociologist nor a psychologist, but I think I should share my own perspective. Im a teen that has Andalusian ancestry, which is a blend between native Iberians ( mainly romans ) , Arabs , moors , ( and maybe some Jews , because my home town is full with Sephardic Jews ). I still see the whole Hispania ( I mean the Iberian peninsula) as my homeland and consider its people my brothers ( because we literally have the same blood ) , and although there was the reconquista and the mass expulsion and genocide of Andalusian muslims and Jews , I don't see Portuguese people and Spaniards as an opponent; they defended their faith and I highly respected that ( But Christ has never taught to murder people and force them to convert or leave their land -Im talking about Iberian Muslims not Arabs nor moors- , also he didn't teach us to kidnap children and take them away of their parents to raise them as Christians ) But Spaniards and portuguese people have changed a lot since then and they are my brothers after all ❤❤
If you mean being one of the the most ancient, complex and diverse species on earth; being a keystone factor to survival of planet life and by extension survival of the humam race; impossible to extingush no matter how hard you try and possibly gonna out live you anyway... a bit if an ass kissing, but i guess we embody that pretty well
