Every detail makes this story pop. From pockets in the pocket area - to the description of what 75k looks like stacked up - to the sagging car due to bulky bulk! The Snowman should have increased your cut on this one!! A genuinely well told story, Chris. Thanks for sharing!

When I’m ready to sell my collection I know who I will sell it to. Inexperience people in the hobby may think making a 20k profit favors the seller but the buyer takes all the risk PLUS having to tied up 60g’s of your money.

I’d like to add that Guy’s like Chris should be the face of the hobby. He gives a very reasonable price for collections and makes a reasonable profit. The proof of his honesty is The Texas Snowman putting 75k in Chris’ account. That’s a lot of faith folks!

Out of curiosity, what do you consider a reasonable price for stores/dealers to buy at? I've noticed that for cards over $5 it feels like 50% cash, 60% store credit feels like it's been the norm for a while. Unless talking about a rare sealed item or high grade grails.

Man, I just love watching these collection purchase videos. I think most collectors would love to have not only the cash, but the nuggets to travel like that, and acquire these awesome collections. Although, most of us would definitely not want the bulk, especially the junk wax. Thanks again for the entertainment Chris. Always look forward to the next purchase.

Robert Louis Stevenson once said, "To travel hopefully is better than to arrive." For me, one of the best parts of going to a card show is driving to get there. How exciting would it be to be driving more than 10 hours in anticipation of making a deal for almost 60,000 dollars of some of the coolest cards on the planet???

Low key indictment on Ebay. 75k would be fine if Ebay didn't take 15k themselves. And then those cards would be 10x harder to find without Ebay. So it's a different world today.

After a couple years of watching your channel, there is no love lost. I enjoy most every episode, high rollers can get a bit repetitive, which you have stated you are aware of, as duplicates come up often, so you started to include honorable mentions which I love . But these stories are far and away my favorite. Other than regular rollers, there is nothing I love more. As always I appreciate your time and the effort you put into making these videos. On a side note, you start your videos with a pic of your son with the mantle rookie, how old is your son now? I have three kids, 10,12 and 16. Does your son enjoy the cards? I’m sure he is still pretty young, but one is never too young to love collecting, not just cards but anything. Thanks again!

I know you guys had a few conversations and the seller seems nice, but that's how scammers disguise themselves, they will act like the nicest person to lure you in. I love these videos you make. I know I have begging for one for months for one. Just love the hearing the story (TRUE). Chris you a very good story teller. Have you ever thought about writing books on any subject? I think you would surprised how well you would do. It's sounds like the snow cost you money so you wouldn't have to immediately flip them. I curious why did you keep the second year Jordan (7) since you bought a high end PSA 9 from me? Did you have to sell the 9? I always thought it was a good example to submit looking for a 10. That card historic has issues and centering issues, fish eyes a very short print run for the entire set of cards..
@collectorinvestordealer
@collectorinvestordealer 4 месяца назад
Thanks! I have not considered writing a book - I used to be a writer (sort of) in the film world, but I burned out from that. For a while, I was keeping all early Fleer Jordan cards as I thought they were good long term investment cards. Although that hasn't really panned out to this point as they have all gone down in the last few years.

Chris, I have a question when you buy collections and try to estimate the total worth. Do you look at each card in terms of eye appeal or do you price strictly on the grade? For example, will you bump up your estimate if the card is a centered modern PSA 8 compared to an off-centered PSA 8? Centered vintage PSA 2 compared to an off-centered PSA 2?
@collectorinvestordealer
@collectorinvestordealer 4 месяца назад
It depends on how much time I have to assess the collection. If I am buying a few high dollar cards, then yes I certainly consider eye appeal. But if I am buying a large collection and need to assess it quickly, I wont really look at that (except on maybe the highest value stuff).
