Thanks for the video, Ope! Fellow Twin City guy here. Just bought a house last September and the lawn needs some work. I've determined I'm going to dethatch, core aerate, and overseed with Tuff Turf Fescue blend from Twin City seed this Fall. I really hope a future video covers something similar! This one was great, but honestly not too doable for most average suburban dads just looking for an above average lawn haha. Thanks for all your guidance and can't wait for more from this series.
Where did you get your topsoil from? I am a twin citites guy and did an overseed last year with the althletic tall fescue mix from Twincity seed as I wanted some lateral spread in my mix. I used home depot topsoil last year and while the seed came out great, the topsoil/ compost wasnt great as it had alot of sticks and junk. I also didnt know about mesotrione last year and I am being punished for it this year with some new weeds. I am going to do another overseed this fall with some different cultivars but want to core areate and do some leveling. I am a 2.5- 3inch mow guy, but could use a less bumpy ride with my rotary. I have been looking for a place to get screened topsoil but wasn't sure where to look. Also really excited to see more about the different grass types as I think it will help me decide on what seed I use this fall. I have a little bit of a mix of everything but i'd like to start committing to one direction.
I got mine from Herman’s in Jordan. There are several to choose from - Wasn’t thrilled with the contents of it, but it’s all part of a project like this to some degree. Thanks for tuning in!
