I believe you are referring to Who's On First by The Credibility Gap. The two people you hear on the bit are Harry Shearer of The Simpsons game and David Lander, better known as Squiggy. Another member of the group was Michael McKean, also known as Lenny.

Hi Jordan, I loved the Mickey Mantle section, especially the waxwork of him catching. The 'League Of Their Own' waxworks were good aswell. Some lovely old photos in there. Now I could sort of imagine Marilyn Monroe being there, but, I certainly didn't expect Abbot & Costello. Great vlog Jordan.

Roger Maris was from Fargo ND. I live about 50 miles from Fargo. West Acres Mall in Fargo has a museum dedicated to Roger. Displaying his uniforms, awards, bats, etc. There's also a theater that runs a video throughout the day, of his life and career. I heard some of his kids still live in the area. A great display.

Some interest here..Pete Rose is a frequent visitor,so you'll see a lot of his autographs.Also the Soccer Hall of Fame use to be in Oneonta NY,about 25 miles south of Cooperstown. They had a store in Cooperstown of hoping drawing people to Oneonta. The Soccer HOF doesn't exist in Oneonta anymore,so they abolished the store in Cooperstown.

Ted Williams also served during the prime of his career age 24/25/26/33/34 so his numbers would have been even better power wise. He would have easily been a member of the 600 HR club He missed FIVE YEARS of full time baseball and still hit 521 HR with a 344 career average. I dont see players of todays era giving up the money they make to choose military service. Thats when men were men...Hell he served in two wars WWII and Korea as a pilot in 1952 and 1953...and that 400 average story you mentioned it was actually a double header that he could have sat out but he ended up going 6-8 to actually RAISE his batting average to 406
@DazewithJordantheLion
@DazewithJordantheLion 2 года назад
Absolutely... if you get a chance, I saw after I went a video of big papi touring the hall of fame, amd he would almost tear up when he saw or talked about anything Ted williams... especially what you said.. that Ted went and served in his prime for years, and papi said "its just not human to take that amount of time off and come back and still be that good.. "

Mike Piazza had a very wealthy father who asked a favor of Tommy Lasorda and because of that the Dodgers drafted Mike late in the draft in 88. If you read Pedro Martinez's book they came up together in the organization and that was not looked on favorably by Pedro and some of the other players and that is the reason that Piazza and Pedro have a history that they have since buried

Your comment upon seeing the figure of Derek Jeter, 'That does look like him' speaks volumes. Some of those figures are so bad, I admit to being surprised that the first stage of making a wax figure is finding a photo of what they want to portray. Because if you weren't telling us who some of these figures were (ie. George W. Bush, Jason Alexander, Kevin Costner, Tom Hanks, Geena Davis) supposed to be, I would likely still be trying to figure out who they were. But the big question I have, which I wouldn't expect you to answer, is why they need a barrier between the wax figure and someone wanting to get a photo with one of them? Are they afraid that a visitor could pass COVID onto one of these figures? Or were they afraid that a visitor could get COVID by standing next to a wax figure? Unless these wax figures actually breathe, I personally wouldn't have been too concerned--and I'm someone who takes mask mandates and the science extremely serious...
