I've been a hobby leatherworker for a long time, and I can tell you that you are SPOT ON when you say that it's the attention to detail that separates good work from great work. Yours is great. And the hipster thing made me spray tea everywhere. Thanks a lot! :)

Misty, I can see you through the window also. By the way, I really love the Boreal Balm. I use it daily on my hands. Keep up the great work!

What kind of leathers are you using making your bags ? I'm using English bridle for the main body of mine and oiled Latigo for all my straps .

carl krebs I like oil or chrome tans (4-6oz) for the body. Strapping is 8-9oz veg tan.

Hi! Did you say that this was beaver leather or did I hear wrong? It seems a tiny bit more "pliant" than the buffalo leather I use. It's very nice leather.

Pendleton shirts are nice , but I like filsons guide shirt , and their HEAVY cotton flannel shirts . They don't itch and they are very warm . But , then again , I'm not as far north as you are . I'm in north louisiana . No need for heavy woolens here . We have damp cold . Usually the mid to upper 30s , is as cold as it gets , routinely in wintertime .

Great video thanks for showing how to do the lacing, but think will leave most of the leather work to the professionals, its more of an art to work leather and make it look good.

Hi, you say in one of your videos that you use leather from a french tannery. I'm french and I look for good leather, can you say me where you find your leather ?

Hey ryan, just wondering if you have ever used an Australian strander for making lace? if so what is your opinion of them? great videos really like the style of leather work you do, all the best and thank you for sharing.

Mr. H I have a larger version of this called a strip cutter. It does the same thing but will cut strips from 1/16" to 4" wide. The benefit of the lace cutter is I can use small square pieces of scrap soft leather. Punch a hole in the middle an the lace cutter cuts from the center in a spiral so I can get a very long piece of lace from a small square of leather. No need for a long piece to make long lace...
