1. [a] Education: more family planning and use of contraception decreases the BR and thus fertility drops. [b] Religion: some religions are against contraceptions thus increasing BR while otbers promote child bearing by encouraging many spouses(islam;1man=4wives) 2. Role of the child: either being an asset; mostly in rural and developing countries where most labour is manual, thus tge desire to give birth to more children and increase the labour force vs in developed countries/urban settings where children are more of a liability/expense as education and social and health sevice bills increases as head count increases. 3. Political; policies limitimg the number of children esp in over populated countries (China) so that resources are not depleted as the BR might spike and causing high demand and low availability of resources: fear of shortage.
Environmental factors could be weather and climate, harsh conditions don't favour child bearing like floods, wild fires, earthquakes and general mishappenings. What about political instability? Is that a social or political factor?(wars and unease)
