Watching this before my psych exam because I didn’t have time to cover this during my all-nighter revision! Thank you for making this video - it’s a life saver
In my case, the picture is even more challenging. I was born in Romania and was one of 9 abandoned siblings right from birth. I was raised in protective institutions since 1979 and lived in various orphanages until I was 20. When I was discharged from those institutions, I wasn’t assessed by any doctor or commission to see if I could be independent. However, I had a severe disability in both legs, due to which I and other residents suffered traumas without access to medication or specialized medical services. I’ve been living in Scotland since 2007 and underwent surgery on both legs to improve my ability to walk. However, the consequences of those years of neglect and abuse persist, and I’m currently struggling with physical and mental health issues. It was only last year that I decided to take legal action against the Romanian state for the inhumane treatments I endured for 20 years.
Aw a student here watching this video for my A level exam in two weeks. Thanks for sharing your story and I’m sorry for all the struggles you have endured. I admire your courage to take action and I hope you keep your head up for the rest of your life:) Everything in this life is a test and as long as you persevere ,as you have, I’m sure you will get along fine and god has a lot of goodness in store for you. Wishing you the best inshallah🤍 Keep your head up and be strong🤍
As a Romanian orphan I was adopted at the age on 9. I spent 6 years in one of the top three oranges listed in Romania. I found this study incredibly fascinating. I would love to take part in a case study myself. Much of this resonated.
Best RU-vid channel, saved me in my exam. Got a E in my predictions with no revision. Did one day of revision for mocks and got a C. Actual A level felt easy because of these videos. Thanks a lot mate
Watched this video recently, and came up as the 16 marker in the real exam today! I used all of the context with the economy and all of the metnioned A03` points, thank you so much for the great video!!!
Did you use the researcher name for Langdon (the AO3 point where Rutter's research had real life application)? I wrote down 'Langdon (2006)' but upon searching the study up it turns out it's spelled 'Langton' instead. Istg if I get penalised for misspelling the name I'll acc cry
I was a Romania baby myself, was born to a 14 year old mother in 83’ the institutes really affected my mental health and ability to make sensible decisions. This led to me living a life of crime in which I robbed the elderly prolifically, a life which I have worked on to change but it has been hard due to my disability (schizophrenia and paralysis)
You can just do Rutter as that's the one on the spec but it's a good idea to have it supported by another research study for evidence just in case a 16 marker comes up :)
you definitely could mention it since its pretty easy to remember and would make your essay more well rounded and would make the examiners think you definitely know your stuff
Incredibly sad that we had to learn this lesson from the policies of a terrible person. I hope it's never repeated. Thank you for conglomerating this information.
