ie.gofundme.com/f/murewa-primary-school ngl lie yall I'm very disappointed losing the med place and missing the A in chemistry by a couple marks but life doesn't always go how you think.. it's God's plan. this year ill get a job in the hospital (hopefully not catching covid) and try again. as bts says,, life go on. pls donate to ZImbabwe School if you can: ie.gofundme.com/f/murewa-primary-school
Don’t be too hard on yourself! this is only the beginning of your journey, its not the end!! You were really brave taking these exams, its been a rough year ❤️
@@LeahRebecca I didn’t sit them but I will be in summer for med. I wasn’t brave enough to sit them in autumn ! Good luck for next time, I’m sure you’ll smash it ❤️
I know it’s so cliche to say, but I would take this rejection as a redirection. You’re going to have the best 2 gap years and going to have such a unique story to tell. You know that you’ll get there and I’m so so exited for you and your future in the next 2 years, and for when you get into medical school. You are an inspiration and congratulations on actually achieving those results anyway and for not giving up and sitting them. I doubt you got any support from your school for revision- I did a gcse and got none at all- so well done ‘Dr Leah’. And it’ll be easier next time as you know what to do to improve. Wishing you all the best. Xx
Honestly rooting for you, and with God, everything truly happens for a reason and you’ll look back and be grateful for the experience, even though right now it may make no sense. ❤️
Hi Leah I’m in the exact position as you, I was devastated reading my results this morning I cried for hours. I’ve lost my medicine offer and that’s been playing on my mind all day today. Just like you I sacrificed everything to study before the exams revising nearly everyday thinking I had it in the bag and that I’d receive the grades I wanted. Knowing that I didn’t receive them killed me this morning. But like you said we get knock backs and it’s how we choose to get ourselves back up that counts. I fully believe you can do this. I’m hopefully going to ask for re marks although I know there’s little hope in an improvement for me. I’m now fully determined to take the summer exams which I’m guessing you are as well. I really do think we can do this! Xx
Girl keep pushing! A medicine degree will always be a medicine degree, it doesn’t matter how long or what route you take just keep your eyes on the prize. I have friends who took gap years, friends who did post grad, friends who did transfers, shaa I even have a friend who is currently in Malta. God is faithful sis, keep working hard, it will NOT be in vain 🙏🏾🤍
Can’t be just me but they wasn’t more lenient at all - my grade boundaries stayed the same and a lot less people got higher grades this autumn than summer 😢
@@LeahRebecca The History grade boundaries were moved by 5 marks was helpful, but it can change up to that much each year anyways depending on how hard/easy the papers were
Bro you had less two months revision tbh I think you were brave for trying to revise in such a short time frame but it shows your determination for medicine just do the summer exams like me dww❤️❤️ god has better plans
Yes! Would love to know how you revised for Chem and Maths for the autumn and then an updated revision strategy - from everything you learnt from your autumn exams. Love your videos!!❤️
you literally have such a good mindset, you're 1000% right you always have obstacles in life. You're bound to come out on the other end much stronger and wiser
omg 😥 ty for being so honest with us, i know this year would have been tough with your family and then the summer exams and then this, I'm glad you have a plan for the rest of the year, and you've done your research on where you can apply to. You've got so much strength honestly!! 😭 So many people would've given up, but I'm so proud of you for staying determined and continuing to pursue your dream! I know for sure you'll look back on this moment as a future medical student (because I know you will be!) and be so proud of how far you've come ❤
Can I just say I feel for you so much. It sounds like you've had an awful year but please don't give up. I can tell how strong you are and I truly believe that you will be able to make it. In 2019 due to a number of reasons I got ACD in my A levels. I moved school, spent the next year revising for Chem and Bio and got A*A*A. I retook my UCAT in summer and am now on my gap year working in a hospital. I found out I had an offer to study Medicine at Exeter two days ago. It's definitely possible, you've got this!! xx
I’m so so sorry about this🥺! You are one of the most resilient and hardworking people I’ve seen, and your mindset through this really difficult period was incredibly inspiring. Keep going girl, you’ve got this! ❤️
I’m so sorry to hear about this. It takes a different level of determination to pick yourself up after 7 months of no help and then in 6 weeks sit an exam. Most people would not have it in them to do that. Defo recommend you resit. Look into which med schools are good for that, some of them defo are. As a patient I would feel like I’d be in good hands with someone like you who was so determined to be there as a doctor. Rooting for you.
You may want to consider taking a Foundation/Gateway year medicine course at some unis as the grades required are much lower and it’s only 1 year extra so I’ve heard!
Dude I fucked up my a levels and I didn’t have the grades to get into medicine..trust me Ik how hard it is.But I didn’t give up I repeated the year stayed a whole year back and smashed my A levels and now I’m going to do medicine next year.Don’t give up on doing medicine cuz not a lot of people are born to have a liking for medicine value that...either you win or you learn man...pls don’t give up on medicine I swear man keep trying...you got this. The universe won’t let u go thru smth like this if u couldn’t handle it....you can do this and get into med.
They did lower the grade boundary, it’s just the papers were easier so people were getting better marks, so the grade boundaries were pushed up, but more people were getting A* by percentage
God Bless you, you will surely become a doctor one day, especially with your growth mindset and determination. Trust in Our Almighty God, He knows best xx
I was downgraded this year and missed my firm for midwifery and I cried, for days, I couldn’t imagine going through what you’re going through when you clearly put the work in. You’ve got this for the next exams!
Hey I’m really sorry and I know how upsetting this must be but remember med is still an option for you whether you resit or apply for a foundation year course or grad med Not all hope is lost!! I wish you the best of luck! And the Education Secretary said the summer exams in England are definitely happening
I feel you so much 😔 im going through the same atm, I had breakdowns and insane stress everyday due to unfair predicted grades my chances of getting in the unis I really wanted to do the courses I really wanted have been affected and I felt like a failure how nothing paid off and I couldn’t believe this really happened. I’m going to achieve the higher grades for my real exams and hoping through adjustment the places will still be there if not then I’ll take the gap year 😞
your outlook on the experience you're experiencing has always been admirable, just know you've achieved so much from this year and will continue to😁 congrats on getting through this year and still smiling ✌️
Hey leah, why don’t you consider medicine with a foundation year. You can get into it with grades as low as BBC (bristol, plymouth, UEA, nottingham, southampton) you can still get in. You did amazing🥰
aw bless you you worked so hard don't give you have such a passion for medicine!! have you considered doing medicine with a foundation year? in which they'd be more lenient on the grades. It might be preferable to taking another gap year?
Yeah life goes on 🥺don’t worry, keep pushing through you’ve got this! Honestly you will make it eventually, there’s going to be bumps along the way, your honestly an inspiration by how your just carrying on. I aspire to be like you, and take failure on the chin teach me your ways queen. Honestly good luck, you will make it!
Hi lovely. I also reset my a levels and found out I was 4 marks of an A in my Literature paper living me devastated and unable to apply ti my top university. Im so sorry but im proud of you for sitting them in the first place x only thing I can suggest is to look at other greta unis, getting teachers to defence how close you were in your references and just smash the personal statement. best wishes x
good luck w the revision, if this is what you wanna do in the future then it’s all worth it you’ll just be better revised than your peers. thanks for the video
Leah please don’t worry. I was in a very similar position to you, did undergrad biomed and then got into medicine. God will work things out🙏🏾. Don’t work full time- maybe part time or bank so that you can use your time wisely. You’ve got this! exams are not a reflection on how integumentary and well articulate you are 💜💜
Do not give up on your dreams. Obstacles happen in life. The key is to keep moving forward. Sooner or later you will arrive at the destination. Just keep going.
Hi Leah, I commented a few months ago on your previous vid during first a levels results and we were both in v similar positions ( I needed to retake chem for med school). I don’t know if you did AQA chem but dear god those papers where brutal. Even though this isn’t what you hoped for, I know your going to be an amazing doctor and I’m so proud of you and your resilience and honestly so grateful you shared ur experience on yt. You got this love xx Hannah :)
Unis that do accept resits for two subj for Med, a100: 1)Bristol 2)Southampton 3)Plymouth 4) Manchester 5)King’s College London 6)Liverpool ...I think there’s still more - please double to check to make sure it’s all update and correct. All the best!
keep going. we love you. you deserve the best. only good things will come from here. you put in a lot of effort and you deserve the best. i promise everything will turn out okay. i promise. keep going!
Hey I haven’t finished the video but I’ve got the gist, I just wanted to say I’m currently on my second gap year (before med) and it’s been a rough but I’ve learnt a lot through it about gap year/dealing with gap years, so if you want to talk please message me I’m happy to listen if you want to vent/talk through things/need advice
You should be so proud of yourself Leah. You sat those exams without the full teaching time in such a difficult year and you still came out with some good grades. You’re so resilient and in the end that is definitely going to pay off (I got a D in A level maths and somehow I’ve made it to med school so it’s possible). Keep going gal, all of this will be worth it in the end 💖💖💖💖
If you had to deal with bereavement this year, you should put that in your application for next year for the medical school. Ask for special considerations before you apply again. The idea is to mention this in the application, not when you get your results. I would even mention to the schools you applied this year, you never know.
I'm so sorry you didn't get the outcome you deserved. These have been really rare and dire circumstances. Your path to your future is unique and unlike previous years but you will come out with thicker skin. You worked so hard and I hope you're extremely proud of yourself. Your future is so bright and I'm so excited for you to reap your rewards in God's timing 🧡🧡
I am proud of you for even trying keep going and never ever give up. You can even do nursing then do medicine. You are not letting anyone down keep going everyone has their own timeline in life and I look up to you for looking at the positive things. I also took the autumn exams and am incredibly thankful to improve by two grades so just keep going I know you can do this x
Leah babe, nothing is embarrassing and everything happened for a reason. You did the best you could in the time you had, but at least there is still an option to try again. If medicine in Ashton was Gods plan then it WILL happen, but if it doesn’t then there’s another purpose and plan waiting for you. Pray pray pray and ask God what he REALLY WANTS FROM YOU THEN!!you smashed it regardless and you will always be loved!!!💕💕💕💕
i really feel for you, i spent all my time since results day in august revising for these october exams and i worked so hard, just to get the same results again. i still cant believe it
Exactly!!! I’m glad to see other people who’d rather work hard for their future and not rely on the system to determine their career path, I Have high aspirations like yourself and we can’t give up!
I am in y14 getting tag grades in august do you think I’ll be able to do the autumn exams or they tell me I can’t because I’m in year 14 btw this is my first time actually getting a level results as I retook year 12 plus good luck with your cags results I hope you get your grades in august
It may not be what you were planning for but in the end you will get what you deserve as hard as it may be after all that effort, keep it up, trust the process and you will get to that place that you worked so hard for.
leah!!! i'm sorry that it didnt go as well as you planned, though you're one of the most resilient, hardworking people i know so i just know the future will be better for you
@@LeahRebecca oh that’s good! Sorry for the confusion 😭 and I wish you all the best for the future ❤️ everything that happens is God’s plan and remember grades don’t define you!! Good luck Leah! 😌
Please don't let this stop you! There are so many options don't worry! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU WILL BE A DOCTOR! Stay strong you will get through it lots of love sending a big virtual hug :)
hey girl, please don't lose hope, the university of Nicosia has teamed with st Georges, they do a 6 yeah md course, they are want ABB so if you want always try there but the thing is they don't look at extended project, but they are still open you could always try, I pray you gain what the lord places on your life. hope that helped
@@harveersingh9970 it’s a lot cheaper than £800 like she said in the video, plus private centres, each exam is around £200-£300 so doing it with ur sixth from is a lot easier
Hey, I'm sorry for your bad news. My brother was in the same position as you and had to sit Bio and Chem as well. He thankfully got the grades, but we were all feeling sick this morning. If you want to do Biomed/a degree before pursuing med school, go for it!! Although atm previous degrees don't count towards the foundation programme, they still do count for Core Training points ect. So don't let that stop you. If you're planning to do exams in 2021, good luck!! Good luck lovely!! If you're close to getting the A in the chem, try giving it for a remark if possible. As a fellow med student- you can do this!!!
Hi Leah, I admire your ability to come and take a reflective approach with this news. Your attitude and drive is going to get you into medicine. As someone who didn’t get into medicine first time I can relate to this. Please look into contextual offers/foundation years and see if you’re eligible for any. With your grades, you would get an unconditional with contextual/foundation offers - having one offer like this could be a sure way of getting into med after your gap year
Hello, I am Alevel 2021, I am so worried about my Alevel result and would like to get advice on resit. I will go to resit my Alevel when I can’t get the grade I need on 10/8. And would like to know how to apply to medicine as a resit 🙏🏻
This estee launder ad has GOT to go! Anywayss aww babes so sorry this happened but I just wanna say everything will be good in the end, it deffo sounds cliche right now but I know you can and will get through this xxx
I honestly feel you and wish you the bestest of luck, you are in my prayers and I applaud you for your attitude towards this and I'm still so proud of you! and if you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get work experience and what will your roles be?
My brother got ABB last year and managed to get a place at Southampton university for medicine after initially rejecting him. Trust in God there is still hope
im so sorry :(( i was a bit disappointed in my history grade too so i hope you don’t feel alone in this. its clear from your videos you worked really hard and you should be proud of that regardless
I really feel for you Leah, idk how medicine applications work but have you considered resitting in the summer, that’s what I’m opting for as well with psychology😭
hey leah could please tell me where did u get the information about the things u said in 4:20. i wanna do biomed and then postgraduate medicine and i didn't know the gov changed things.
hello leah , congratulations on getting your grades, our cambridge result is about to be released next week , so is there any hope that they give any leniency or lower the gts for us ?
Leah, so sorry to hear this! Realise that you’ve worked SO hard with so much dedication. Don’t give up please, Aston Medical School needs you! Will you be resitting next year? x
