Very late from when this video came out, but, Zoe also keeps in the long pauses and overall edits less because the content can drag on for longer and the video is often more easily monetised if its over 10 mins. Its a really easy way to make light content, but by dragging it out and also profiting.
Hi Mrs Fisher ! I love your videos and find them so helpful, I wondered if you could do a video on The Bridge and Life on Mars Representation, Media language & Audience x
Your videos are so helpful! Thank u so much - I learn a lot more here than in my media classes. Will you be covering any other A-level topics which are coming up this year? such as Beyonce's music video or Assassin's Creed?
Phieilly Dinyia Glad they’re helping! I’ve got a big list of videos that I’m in the middle of filming and editing which include Representation in Huck magazine as well as what to expect in the two A level exam papers and a few GCSE videos too. But as soon as I’ve finished those I’m going to film and edit an Assassins Creed video, and some more videos about Humans and The Returned as well as Attitude magazine.
Just come across this video and was wondering if you could make a similar sort of video for Pointless Blog, Alfie Deyes as hes the person for online media for my spec. Love the vids btw!
hello. Could you do a video on life on mars/the bridge/women magazine or adbusters? thank you it would be really helpful as in this complicated COVID-19 situation, its hard to study online with teachers set products and your videos have helped me a lot. Thank you
I love your vids! have one question though, I always work really hard in media stufies but I’m unable to get A’s or A* , do you have any tips or websites I could refer to for further help
To be honest a lot of the time it varies from student to student and school to school so it’s worth asking your teacher. Focus on: Making sure your points are relevant Making sure you have evidence examples or facts from the texts or topics to back up your points Using a range of key words Structuring your work clearly and with good SPAG Learning relevant set theories and using them in small amounts where relevant
Eff Tee I will be doing one but likely not for a couple of months as I’m prioritising the videos for my students sitting exams this year and they are doing Dream instead of Formation. But it will happen I promise!
Marti Stelling also although these ones are aimed at GCSE students, they could easily be adapted for A-level texts drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NpTUKAjksRKNPFFeN_Q6erSAVdC3LXmJ
Hi, as I don’t teach the AQA spec I’m less confident about what students should expect from the exam papers for AQA not if I get all my Eduqas based videos done I’ll try and look up the AQA info and see what I can do.
Basically it’s asking how Zoella represents gender / herself and what impact that might have on the way audiences feel / act. So women may see her videos and have their ideas about femininity, beauty etc constructed as a result. They may aspire to be like her, see her as a role model etc. Use Cultivation theory among others.
Hi, as my students study Humans and The Returned for the TV topic, covering Life On Mars isn’t on my “to do” list at the moment. But if I get through all the videos my own students need, I’ll consider having a go at it!
Drink77 If you have studied her very new website you could discuss how it is much less “personal” eg only a few pictures of her, and not written from her personal voice. It’s more of a team project and uses “we” instead of “I” signifying that Zoella has now become more about a corporate brand rather than a person. Might tie in nicely with Curran & Seaton’s ideas about media texts being more mass produced and unoriginal when they are not produced by smaller independent producers.
