Beautiful space! I love Daddy-long legs & the House of Mirth so I was thrilled to see those pulled out. Also, love seeing a space for Mary Stewart & D.E. Stevenson-two favorite authors of mine :)
WOW! Mitzi, your library is incredible!! Your husband did an amazing job with the room and I love how you've organized your collection! I also LOVE that chair!!
Your husband did an amazing job. The space is beautiful. I love the chair, it reminds me of my granddaddy’s chair! And your collection of Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Bobsey Twins is terrific and brings back my childhood. I love your collections of various genres and authors.
Thank you for sharing your lovely library, Mitzi. It is heavenly! Your husband did a wonderful job. That's an example of true love right there. 💜 (I really suggest you marry him all over again!) 😊
I never hear anything about Wonderland Creek, so I'm happy to hear someone feels the same! I haven't read Chasing Shadows. I'm adding to my list right now- thanks!
Your library is beautiful! Your husband did an incredibly impressive job. I think I spied Savannah by Eugenia Price in the window set. I highly recommend that quartet. Added bonus, many of the places in the book are real and you can visit in Savannah - especially the house with the night ceiling.
What a beautiful library, Mitzi! It was to see what's on your shelves and how you've arranged them. I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure stories when I was a girl. I noticed some Redwall series books on your shelves. My boys loved those and read everything one and anything else Brian Jacques wrote. I remember reading Early Will I Seek Thee by Eugenia Price years ago. I learned to love he writing from the Savannah series and then wanted to read more by her. Enjoy your new space!
I don’t think your chair is ugly either, I actually quite like it! Your library is gorgeous, your husband did a fantastic job. Your books are beautiful and I love the way you’ve organized your library. You have many of my favorite authors as well, I would feel so much at home there😊
Thanks for sharing your awesome new library with all of us. Kudos to your hubby for a job well done. I enjoyed seeing all of your books. You said we could ask about any books that we didnt see. I didnt notice any Pat Conroy on your shelves. Just curious if you have ever read any of his book. He is one of my favorite authors.
Read Footsteps in the Dark by Georgette Heyer to see what her mysteries are like. I think she wrote only 12 mysteries. My favorite inspector is Hemmingway but there is a Hannysyde also. Then read Why Shoot the Butler? I have not read the other Heyer books you own yet.
The Lilies of the Field is a favorite of mine. Beautiful library. A lot of books I want. 😁 Thank you so much for the tour. I always try to tell people that there is a difference between someone who likes to read and someone who loves books. I love books and also love to read.
Of the Georgette Heyer, I would say to read Cotillion if you want a humorous Regency Romance or Footsteps in the Dark if you want a more light-hearted but Golden Age mystery.
Ok, thanks! They both sound good. Maybe a humorous Regency during Jane Austen July!! Think I'll pull it from my shelf and add to my Jane Austen reading.
That was a lot of fun to watch!!! I saw you have The Parasites by Daphne du Maurier on your shelf. Have you read it? Did you like it? I have to admit it's my least favorite book of all time that I've read. 😂😂🤣
uh-oh 😂No, I haven't read that one yet and the last two I read weren't good at all- maybe I should wait to read that one - don't want 3 bad du Mauriers in a row. 😂
Thanks for taking us through your library. It was fascinating! Having just read Rebecca I was very interested in your DuMaurier section. Have you read Don't Look Now? What did you think of it? Thanks again for sharing with us!
@@mitzireadsandwrites I've seen the Don't Look Now movie and it was very creepy and disturbing and I've always wanted to read the book. It's now on my TBR list along with My Cousin Rachel which was also a very good movie, with Olivia DeHavilland and Richard Burton. Thanks for answering me. I really love your channel. I learn something new every time. You must have been a fantastic teacher!
Wow, how great. A fantastic room. You’ll have so much fun. I recognised many of my own books there! Hey Mitzi, would you consider talking about Flannery OConnor? I’d love to hear you explain why you like her and what you think she’s all about. I read a bunch of hers in college but I don’t think I understood her at all. I need to give her another look now that I’m older. I was interested when you said you liked her work.
Thanks, Janet! That's a great idea! I do think I need to do just that. So many read her as assigned reading and yep, comes across just violent and weird. I'll make plans to do that- thanks!
Thanks for sharing your library. It is a charming space....just like you. I love the vintage planters you have your bookmarks displayed in. A few years back my husband and I were traveling through Iowa and we went to see the bridges in Madison County.🤩
It's so good! Banner of Truth usually offers a great sale on the set around the end of the year. You can sign up for their email so you can catch their deals.
@@mitzireadsandwrites Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that. I recently purchased All Things for Good by Thomas Watson ( Puritan Paperbacks) from Banner of Truth and it's a great read.
Your library is just awesome!! What a special way your husband supported you in your love of books and collecting!!❤. I love the floor to ceiling design, I understand when you say a dream come true!! Wondering which Elm Creek quilt book you still need? I'll be on the lookout😅
First of all your husband is the best!!! 🙌 That library is perfect!! 😍 I paused so many times the video to read the titles of the books 😝 Thanks for sharing with us that beautiful bookish paradise ❤
I LOVE this library room! Hubby nailed it. So fun to see your collection. I have my first library room (also a tiny bedroom) and so I understand that daily joy of walkibg in there!❤ I loved Bridges of Madison County. Also read it when young. It made my keep shelf.
Hi Mitzi! Beautiful new library! Your husband did a wonderful job! In the area behind your desk you could put in a TV screen where you could connect to RU-vid. That way you can play cozy reading ambience rooms to fit the mood of the books you're reading at the time. Just a fun suggestion. What a wonderful space. Thanks for sharing.😁
Wanted to say congratulations on being a Grandmother! And Wow! What a nice Library! Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us! A book I just finished is June Bug by Chris Fabry. He wrote The War Room. It was a 5 star for sure. I could not put it down! I had to find out what happened to this little girl! He is quickly turning into a favorite author of mine!
Thank you for sharing your library. I love a good sticky beak at people's collections and the excitement when you spot a title you own! Congratulations on becoming a Grandma.
I absolutely love how you did this! Just showing us the section of shelf and giving us an overview of the books listed. I’ve seen it done a few different ways and I really like how you did this. Pure fun! ☺️
