The amount of arguments l have with people who brand Traveller's with thieves and aways leave a mess everywhere they stop. I have good friends who are Gypsies and l know who l trust the most. Nobody can see it's a traditional way of life and your entitled to follow that way of living. Keep going the way you are friends.
I have had two different Romani gypsies, William and George and I can honestly say that they are very nice friendly people. And the guys that demolished my old concrete garage were Romani, they did a fantastic job for a very fair price and again they were very friendly and pleasant to deal with.
The Couple in this video made their point in an informative and intelligent way . They came across just the same as any other normal people would . Who would ever guess they live in a caravan ? Their choice to LIVE THEIR LIVES in a caravan is in my opinion Their right . Look around you , there are far more obscure examples of human behaviour gone properly wrong in ever village , town and city . Genuine Travelling People live their lives with strong moral and family values . Something that has faded away from everyday British culture .
I'm not a gypsy, I live in a brick house and it's not lovey at all your tied with ether rent to pay or mortgage then the up keep of gas electric and other things. I decided to swap my life to something similar to the gypsy life. It's called self sufficiency. I've started to register unclaimed land which I then apply for planning permission for my static and sewage tank. Last thing I want is to be turfed of someones land. Heating and Electric is sorted too, no more paying companies big bills, I plan on using solid fuel cooker that's will heat water (the water I harvest my self in IBC tanks)heat the static and cook, they is special adjustments I need to do when fitting the cooker other wise the heat would just burn the static down. Electric is sorted with wind and solar power stored in batteries. I don't know why if some gypsies want to stay in one spot they don't just look for land to claim and be self sufficient. By law if they are on land that someone owns and they don't attend to it the gypsies can claim it by going to land registry, then the planning application for the caravans.
Be proud of who you are... never give up your way I life.... I've lived in a vehicle for 25 years... So I completely understand the stigma and victimization that you go throu.. May your spirits be forever strong..
I'll say this, I admire the Travellers' cohesiveness and togetherness. It is the rest of Western society that is crumbling beneath us. And please don't confuse with the Gypsies and Roma, who are a separate race and culture from India originally. Travellers are originally from Britain and Ireland. They are the same as us but just live a different lifestyle and we should respect their choice to live their way.
Yeah, that's fine. They are free to live their lives as they wish. What people oppose is the crime, disorder, intimidation & hideous foul waste that they leave behind when moving into a neighborhood. Only busybodies would care if you would park up for a while on public land, but the wider community do tend to take issue with the aforementioned issues that are sadly commonplace when traveller groups move in.
Most of us don't benefit from taxes and in some countries we're not even allowed citizenship but are chased for taxes. Just admit that you care more about money than people
how do you know they dont pay tax's how do you know they dont have a permanant address they can use for registering cars and buisness's and pay tax's ect ? you dont you just assume they are all bad people without ever saying hello to them you pass them in the street we are all people sharing the same planet in middle of deep space we all come from same place
The difference here is that we keep paying taxes with the full knowledge the vast majority of that money will be pocketed, embezzled, stolen by everyone in the higher rungs of the pecking order: from the politicians who have made a career of it, to the council's senior management who use that dosh to pad up their golden pensions. In the meantime we live with the public services in terminal decline, but if we dare not to pay we are hounded, harassed and given to the bailiffs. If some of those travellers decide not to pay taxes though, they are called scroungers, lazy, and, as your post makes abundantly clear, treated as less than human. Who are the stupid ones in this whole equation?

I have been friends with travellers in my younger days. There are good and bad as with all people. Yes some mess up sites..but you should see some of the sights I have seen living amongst ordinary people on housing estates. Drugs, violence etc. When I was befriended by travellers in my younger days..I was looked after. The traveller site I used to visit was laid out like a street map, lit tarmac paths..near and tidy caravans. All work vehicles were on a seperate parking site..off site. There was another traveller site along a canal that looked like a scrap yard. So good and not so good, just like the rest of society..with one big difference..travellers have community, they look after each other..which is more than can be said about society today. Travelling is a way of life going back thousands of years to the hunter gathering days of man. Don't blame travellers for having limited camp sites.. especially when house building it taking up so much green belt land. Travellers stay for a while then move on..a house built on green belt land, the land has gone forever.

I live just down the road from a traveller sight. There is a few types down there. First ones are people from around here that have gone to live down there. Second ones are foreign, they go to the shop every day but pay for everything they buy. Most of them are just from around here that have decided to move down there. There is always police down there and there is a lot of little. The council spent 1 million pound down there on the sight and there is fires in the shower blocks all the time. Most of them are lovely people with manners and a lot of the police issues are the same people. Tbh they do pay money to the council to live down there and it may not be as much but it’s only a caravan. It isn’t as big, doesn’t have as many rooms. All you people slagging them off I get where you are coming from because it’s what people say about them but maybe take into consideration there is a lot of gorgers that do exactly the same as what they supposedly do!
people say a lot of bad shit about them but to me it is the minority spoiling it for the majority. i grew up with them as i had friends which were part of a community since school. there families always exepted me and they always looked out for me. they had there own land ( which they paid for ) . they have there own little world and they're own culture but they are human the same as everyone else. you cant judge all of them because of a minority who fuck it up for the rest of them. if you could ever spend time in a community you would find decent self sufficient human beings who are very family orintated and love there children and stick by each other. i like how fathers teach the children to fight at a young age. its skills that needed in this day and age. they taught me to fight aswell. to many individuals the tax thing and setting up on land that doesnt belong to them will always have oppinions and debate amoung most. what would you all have them do? you cant force people to ditch there culture and move into houses and be contolled by western culture and proganda. there is plenty of land for everyone to settle on but nothing is free in our supposedly free country. the days of a man finding a patch of land to make it his own is over. we could learn a lot from gipsy communities. they are awake and not brainwashed and controlled like the majority of the in the uk. they live free rather than being contolled and imprisoned in there own country.
I have gypsy friends, hears my problem, u lot can knock on our doers asking for work, but we come on a site asking for work u would chase us off lol, and I know because of who I know, when I go to the site I have to be invited on first lol, I'm all for accepting but it works both ways

We are all different so if we can trust all these people from over seas coming here we must trust and respect the travelling community’s but at the same time the small number from the travelling community that dose fly tip or rip people off need to reform so the stigma stops there good people I’ve grown up with showmen and women and I love them too bits there amazing people

@@kingdodkingdod They were the same 1000 years ago. It just now have different subgroups because Gypsies that left and moved to different area 600 years ago are now called different. Maybe if the different groups of Gypsies worked together things would be better. Which is why in studying Gypsies you put them together because it shows how one region they thrive while another region because of racism they suffer. All sub groups are Gypsies but it matters when in history they traveled far away from there home land.
Im living in a caravan. IV had so much trouble for just bein me. I had my last caravan burnt an my living wagon destroyed.is there anyone that can help with me as I'm stuck bein descrimated an I'm worried something may happen to me as I'm traveling on my own .. my great uncle is not here no more I'm trying to do him proud **bein where I am making my mental health bad xx
What this lady sais is true... I have lived in a vehicle for many years..... and I have so many people who don't like that people choose too live differently from other people... do we not have the right too choose how we want too live...

It'd be a lot easier to respect them if they didn't steal anything which wasn't nailed down, treat the land as if it belonged to them, pay no taxes, leave human excrement and rubbish wherever they have been and threaten anyone who tries to get them to obey the law.

So GNRbritain, what you are saying is that the government can fund other nations and nationalities that have no heritage in the UK and no desire to form part of our culture but we should not help the travelling community who have lived here and contributed to our culture for 100's of years. They tried that in Portsmouth.....none of the travellers used the site set up for them and insted still chose to break into and trash car parks and playing fields.

If it is someone's idea of a joke - get a new sense of humour. Sadly, I think there is a lot of real prejudice here. I would hope that if a travelling community came to live near our village I would have the big-heartedness to welcome them. We gorgios might even learn something. I for one am interested in any and all different cultures and ways of living - why should my own be any superior? There are lying, stealing people in all cultures. Gypsy's and travellers are similar in ways but are not the same! But I'm surprised both people's get offended by the word pikey? It's nothing to do with either off them!
