With lots of money, comes lots of drugs and as great as santa Barbara is, we couldn't escape the underbelly of the beautiful town. Many have lost thier battle with addiction, we just lost Ryan. You are finally at peace brother 🙏. My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to your family. 😢

Just read the Independent (local Santa Barbara free weekly magazine) and learned that Ryan passed away on July 2nd, 2022. As a local Santa Barbarian it hurts to lose a local. RIP Ryan, thank you for what you did while you were here, helping others while facing your addiction head on and honestly. You will be missed.

followed this dude for awhile on his own vlog. Seemed a bit self entitled and almost proud of his drug escapades and stories that came with it. I just felt really sorry for his parents and friends that had to put up with it all.

I was glued to this one. No wonder he was able to sell the rights to his story. Some people live crazy lives for sure. I'm riddled with horrible anxiety so I end up being very cautious and reserved (and boring, lol). I really do have a great appreciation for these interviews, though. Super interesting.

OH man, Ryan's story reminds me so much of my own, and how lucky I am that it has never gotten this bad for me. It is a struggle everyday, but I'll get there. Rest well my man, and thank you Mark for shining a light.

I took Adderall from second grade until about junior year of high school. Really wish I had never taken it. But as he said my mom thought she was doing what was right according to health care professionals. Really touching life story and great story teller by the way

I used heroin intravenously from 21-27. I’ve met people like this before, and they always have a story to tell and a bridge to sell you. Working with and interviewing addicts is tough, as we are deceiving and manipulative in our nature; the stories are almost too crazy to believe, while the truth is to be found somewhere in the middle of all the bullshit. He does remind me of a chubby and much less talented Nic Sheff, though. Gotta remember, guys, for a lot of these addicts, being in front of a camera that’s broadcast to millions of people is a really big thing, and it is especially big when they may have ambitions in entertainment, art, and film. This isn’t an insight to a “life on drugs;” this is a snapshot of a washed up addict trying to sell you the lies he’s told himself.

Ryan, I was an 8 yr old kid on amphetamines also... Def created an insatiable crave for the remainder of my life. Much respect for telling your story. Hope the best for the rest of it my friend

12 minutes in and this dude has already been through college, went through a drug selling phase with some grandma lady and got rich, then got busted by 50 cops like its gta, had Michael jacksons attorurney apparently?, went to prison for 5 years, saw an eyeball fly out someones head, wrote a book about some random shit, got rich off of the book and became a celebrity, got married, lost all of it, and did the whole things while on hard drugs. ngl i feel like he cap bro this not gta story mode

Mark, if you are ever in or around Alabama I would love to share my story, I'm an ex 28 year i.v drug user, meth, heroin, oxycodone etc I've been clean 8 years now, died 3 times from overdose and they brought me back, I hanged myself with clothline wire and couldn't speak for over a year, I did 6 years in prison, there's just a whole lot lol but now it's my purpose to share my story, experience strength and hope with others, much luv my man!

How. Sad. 😞. All that struggle prison - time being -sober being a father new start over 🚀. ☮️. and over again and the drug 💀 still took him.- evil it’s like fentanyl and heroin are the devils favorite tool to take you away-

I would love as a Veteran with PTSD from both the war and my parents to be on this show.. I am the godfather of the study for ADD and ADHD. At Georgetown U in the VERY early 80's.

That point about his parents getting him amphetamine salts as a little boy is crucial. He's talking about causes and conditions, instead of following the standard 12 step narrative whereby you blame yourself. I found his treatment of his parents' mistakes actually very respectful and tactful and kind. Fact of the matter is that childhood trauma and isolation are two of the most prominent causes of hardcore drug addiction and alcoholism. But if you say anything other than "it's my fault, I'm a bad human" then people accuse you of playing the blame game and sidestepping your responsibility. Thanks for your work in putting this stuff out there, Mr Laita.

Details always change and Ryan story like how much money he had in the safe when he got great storyteller but I'm sure he embellishes a lot of the details

I have a very hard time believing anyone who claims they shotup at gun point the first time…. It could be true…. But if it is he is literally the only addict I’ve ever heard of that happening to. My guess is it probably didn’t go down quite like that…. 🤔🤷‍♂️

My man wasn't sober in this interview. He died of an overdose he was in the hospital smoking fentanyl. Obviously no judgment, but I didn't like how he said sober for good. He was getting high all through his youtube career

I hate this guy. His story is gross. Kids do Not become sociopathic drugs addicts from being treated for ADHD as kids. They DO by NOT making good decisions, NOT listening, NOT caring about anybody but themselves and lack of commitment to consistent and effective treatment.

Sadly Ryan is a con man & pathological liar that will do anything for money, obviously now hitting Mark up. He is a great story teller & I even read his book but how long do you stay lost in the druggie/convict life. Hope you can get sober for your wife & 2 children man. This "story" has changed all 8 times I've heard him tell it! I know this because I paid him for his patreon channel for a year and a half! He is a great story teller,,but a liar!

I wonder if there's anything this guy has ever done for him to take accountability for any of his life choices . 1st the Parents put his on drugs. 2nd, he shoots up for the 1st time by force. He goes to jail for Pimping but he wasn't a Pimp, he was just helping a friend. He's the perfect example of why , whenever I meet FAST TALKERS , I use more caution 🥴

Maybe we should stop putting children on speed and wondering why they turn into chaos addicts as adults. I also think kicking your child out of your home has a detrimental impact on their self worth.

Found Ryan originally from an interview he did on lockdown 23 and 1. That led me to finding Ryan’s channel. Watched a couple videos and was laughing, shocked, mad, sad, back to laughing. I then had no choice but to scroll all the way to the very beginning. That’s when my path down the rabbit hole of the Ryan Leone saga began and i was hooked. You are now free from all the demons you fought for years. Rest easy bro.

Watching this now after Ryan has passed away is such a bummer. I had been following Ryan since he got out of prison and just started his RU-vid channel. Was a big fan and was rooting for him as I’ve struggled with addiction. RIP Ryan. Palabra.
