I just realized why Caleb is so protective of Frumpkin It's his Emotional Support Animal

The Bread Mittens made me feel more sad for Caleb than anything, first time I saw it. Of course it was super cute and endearing, but it was still so obvious how hard his life has been, and how much he takes poverty for granted.

It's interesting that early on his lighter side could be pretty childlike, especially considering that we now know he basically didn't experience the last 11 years of his life.

The thing about Caleb, he spent 11 years in that asylum not being himself. A vegetable. And when he was healed the false memories also went away, so basically he didnt have 11 years of processing of what he did, he had around 1 and a half since escaping, meeting nott and the rest of the mighty nein

I love that caleb just doles out time with his cat in attempts to get closer/gauge how cool people are.

This is why I love caleb! Everyone thinks hes a depressed hobo man, but I always think of him of an excitable (yet depressed) puppy dog.
