Still on Anglesey, North West Wales and heading for Point Lynas Lighthouse.
Before we get there, we do a slight detour to visit a unique ex Keepers grave near Amlwch. The headstone is a very tall stone Lighthouse.
Then onto Point Lynas.
I was a Keeper here from 1983 to 1987.
This video was shot in the early 1990's.
Point Lynas isn't open to visitors, but is fairly unique with its lantern on the ground floor. This means that you can see the lens through the lantern windows.

Thanks for this video Peter. Have walked the coastal path on a few occasions and have photographed the lighthouse from a few different angles. My wife had come across the lighthouse grave story and insisted we make a visit to the cemetery. Nice one again Sir!

Great video. The lighthouse keeper's memorial is impressive. Looking on Google it is good to see that his home survives and has a bay window resembling a lighthouse lantern, perhaps unintentionally. The sign is funny. I remember visiting graveyard in Neston , Wirral, which had a sign stating 'Do not deposit dead flowers here!', and of course some wag painted out 'flowers'.

Thank you very much. The Wirral bit made me chuckle, I love people with a sense of humour, and are happy. Cheers and stay safe Mate.

Hi Peter, yet another amazing and interesting video, Thankyou. Could I ask please, what would be the rough lifespan of one of those big 1kw incandescent bulbs when used in occulting mode, as opposed to constant on like the rotating flashing beacon? Far more character than todays LED’s Cheers from Aus. Mike.

Thank you very much. I'm not sure that I can answer that definitively as we had a regime (more or less) to swap the bulbs out at 1000 hours service. So we never actually ran them till destruction on the stations I served at. If any ex Keepers that know differently then please feel free to say so. Cheers and stay safe.
