Hi Peter, Thank you for another wonderful video of a lighthouse keeper's job. What a fantastic mechanism for changing the wick, how clever is that!! As I said before, my uncle was a lighthouse keeper at Langness lighthouse here on the IoM. As a young boy I would help him when he was on nights and loved the smell of lighthouses. It was through him that I have a love of lighthouses and lightships. How lucky you are to have had such a fantastic job as a Lighthouse Keeper!
Thank you very much. It's so nice when my videos trigger memories and more so when they are shared here. Yes, the smell of Lighthouses never leave you. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Peter, for sharing, a really interesting video, fascinating, and a beautiful island and of course the wildlife too, those beautiful seals.aww, Cheers Peter Kind regards.
That Merion driving the boat isn’t it? His son still does the moorings in the bay Owi Lloyd Jones. I’m sure if you went to see him he would run you out to the island. He’s on face book.
I believe so but my memory on names isn't the best. I will have to search to find him cheers. Trouble is the Island is now private, so probably not an option, thanks and stay safe.
@@rbrtcrowther Thanks for that. Yes we used to go out fairly often but that was over 20 plus years ago, so don't know if I would be remembered. Cheers and take care.
