@@luckymuddypaw Tell that to my pinkie. My little Maltese bit me when I was grooming him (I caught a tangle and he really didn't like it). His little canine tooth went straight to the bone. Now, I run a comb very carefully through every last bit of him before I start combing and cutting. He's a sweetheart but I just happened to catch the tangle just right.

yeah this dog is cute i mean my dog was cute too but her attitude wasn't at all. literally my sis and i getting ankle bit by our then dog when leaving school making sure to leave early to bus because we would be inside crying while getting bandaids on ourselves then having to explain to others why our eyes were red and swollen, noses red. when my mom would be home from work or worked later she had to use a baby gate to lock the dog in room just until any person would go to leave. she would chase everyone down. she loved when people came in but not leaving. the nasty bruises i used to get from her i was in my teens. most dog groomers have a stand on the table with parts that hold dog's head and in my dog's case we had to muzzle her before dropping her off and same with the vet's office.she was a lhasa apso similar looks and she legit looked like an ewok.she got her attitude at age 3.

that puppy was not calm at all, it was stressed and when it seemed "calm" it was just learned helplessness when he knew that his communication was ignored anyway and he can not get out of the situation......... sort of like when a woman will be lying still during being raped when she knows she can not escape her fate, and the rapist will say she enjoyed it cause she did not fight

yawning is not "actually feeling great" Yawning is a STRESS SIGNAL!!!! Stupid people laugh at little dog's communication and ignore it, teaching the dog to bite... then they call them sassy and bitey and all the other names when the poor dog actually is just asking for space and time.

​@@Lucinka58goooosh, that reminds me of when I stayed with some of my family a couple years. They had 2 dogs that were severely under trained. Both dogs would bark at you for hours and if you had you're back turned they'd lunge and bite you. They bit hard, I'd have a huge bruise and would be bleeding. They all thought the dogs miss behaving was funny and would pick the dogs up and pet them or give them treats to "distract them" one of the dogs apparently bit a baby's face and they baby had to get 7 stitches! They were bragging about it like they had a trophy dog!!! I was so relieved when I left.

That's the problem. When little dogs snap at people, they think it's cute. What's the matter with them ?! Big dogs get into trouble if they do the SAME thing, and please don't talk about " a little dog won't do as much damage". That isn't what it's about - it's about socializing, and having dogs that behave themselves, and are safe to be around.

They are a HANDFUL!, Chipper had his first time at the groomer yesterday. It was not PRETTY .....LOL He's recovering today. Stressed him out pretty bad

@@tbbigrocker149 you might want to consider learning how to do it yourself. You'll save money & you'll be able to trim him at your pace...face 1 day, legs another, etc. Plus, learning how to trim around the eyes helps keep hair out of their eyes.

@@tbbigrocker149 LOL My puppy Connie had a few bald patches at first from my lack of scissor skills however the important part is to make certain you don't cut the skin and that the doggy is tangle free. After that a few bald patches here and there won't hurt you'll get better at styling.

I don't even have dogs and I am sometimes addicted to dog-grooming videos. 😂 It IS impressive! and this little honey just seems new enough to it to be wary. I think they'll be happy for a nice wash and trim next time. 🐕🙂

So sorry for your loss. I'm on my 2nd pair of Shih Tzu. Being groomed is stressful for them and expensive for the owners. That's why I groom my Shih Tzu myself. I was a hairdresser so I knew how to use the equipment. I got tips specifically for grooming Shih Tzu from RU-vid. My 14 yr old boy only went to the groomer 2x in his 1st year. Both times I told them not to do his nails cause I do them myself. Both times they did & made him bleed. After that, I groomed him myself. My 12 yr old girl has never been to a professional groomer!!

​​​@@tosabebepet You are an awesome groomer, patience and calmness 5 stars. It is hard because most groomers (like myself) are on a time crunch. You did amazing. I have gotten bit by many shih tzu. They have a nasty temperament when being groomed unless their owners take the time getting them use to grooming. I had very few like that, but the ones that were, were ANGELS.
