Us playing after watching this: “Welp, I gotta use it. Better use Fire Drive while I’m away so Mario doesn’t get pelted with things from the audience.”
Out of all the attacks in this game, I wouldn’t think the one where you smack a fireball into the enemy would be the one that lets you take your time starting.
Goomba: “I don’t want to talk about it. It was the most brutal battle I ever faced in my life. We just stood there staring at the flames hanging from the heavens above Mario. Just stood there waiting. But they never came. We all just stood there and watched until it would be our turn. But our turn never came. I don’t even remember the battle... all I know is after what felt like 100 years... the flames finally came down and in that instant we were finished. Mario didn’t just destroy us physically... no that wasn’t enough for him. He destroyed us mentally as well. Screwing with our heads until BOOM. The mad man...”
I know the game allows you to take your time during Fire Drive, but don't take too long to hit that fireball. The curtains might catch on fire, and everyone is made of paper.
Fire Drive is basically the stage hand realizing; that dropping a fire ball, on the realm made entirely of paper, may not be a good idea. So better make sure Mario is ready before they drop it down.
Meanwhile, above the set: Shy guy director: Did you guys release the Podoboo so Mario can fire drive- Aw- _Steve!_ You're roasting marshmallows on it AGAIN? Mario needs that! That's it- you're fired.
Dear God! Me too! The Boogly Woods music mesmerizes me, even after so many years of playing it! It brings me so many amazing memories from my childhood!
"I discovered this when I played TTYD over a decade ago." That line made me feel old and sad 😞 Although I lastly played a bit of TTYD in 2013, I beat the game in 2005, and didn't touch the game ever again. I played it a lot during the 2005, 2006 era (I think I beat it twice,) and it's like my 2nd favorite game of all time. But, ignoring that bit that I played in 2013, it's been pretty much over a decade that I last played TTYD. That makes me feel old.
It is sad that I found all of this intriguing. I suppose when a game is as perfect as TTYD, you are happy to soak up any piece of info on it that you can.
Knowing that Fire Drive waits for you is really good to know! I lost my third attempt at Bonetail Because I got called by my parents and the crowd Rock wave'd me. To this day, I still haven't killed the oldest virgin.
I guess it does make sense that failing the action command would result in more cheering, and more people will join your audience, with how popular "EPIC FAIL" stuff is on the internet.
Fire Drive was always one of my favorite attacks / badges in the game, and this makes it even better. i'll remember that you can take a washroom break before starting it
Is there literally any hypothetical situation where doing this is advantageous vs actually performing the move? Also what if bomb wouldn't deal damage if successful?
Yes, if you have a BINGO lined up and the enemy is either invisible/immune or a Bristle (which is side-spiky), Mario cannot move and you don't have/want to waste FP to perform Bobbery's other moves (and no Quick Change to swap him out)
Really Interesting.... I always "DID what I was told to do" when it came down to the Action command. *sighs* but seeing this video makes me want to play TTYD all over again. Let us all Hope a new paper mario will come out later this year (that goes BACK TO IT'S ROOTS)... *Glares evily at Nintendo*
Audience when you don't press A at all in the press A repeatedly bomb: Woohoo! That was epic! 🥳👏🏻 Audience when you don't quite land the shell perfectly but still good: Boooo! I'm disappointed in you! 👎🏻
You know... every single time this meme gets brought up and its about luigi... its actually incorrect. WEEGEE is the one who wins by doing absolutely nothing. . . in case You may have not known this.. weegee is actually a creepy pasta version of luigi. weegee is supposed to represent luigi but in actuality they're actually two different characters/entity's. but at some point the "weegee" meme craze of him winning by simply eerily staring at his victims(where the him doing nothing part was born)became so iconic that people just started applying it to the traditional luigi instead... but there, instead of representing the horror that was weegee, Now began to turn into a symbol of just how cool/edgy luigi was. but as for the tale of weegee however.... was lost to the sands of time.... abandoned and forgotten. . . and so it was.... to this day. . . so many people continue to use this meme to honor luigi instead.... without ever really asking...... just where did this meme come from? Not even the generation of people that came from the last were ever curious as for where did this meme ever come from.... but it was only because luigi was so cool that Nobody ever really cared about the history of that old meme. . . . (reaches into pocket, and pulls out a smoke screen, then vanishes in a mysterious cloud of smoke)
"Fireball," the man said, glee in his voice, "is the solution to everything." Then, Mario comes along... Getting on stage... And stays there. Walking in place. Fire drive primed but not going. If you wanted to pause combat, *that* was the answer. Fireball.
I just started this game, and I've noticed with the commands where the cursor moves back and forth and you have to press A at the middle, sometimes I'll get it perfect, it will count as perfect, but the cursor will still move a little after I press A.
