I very much enjoyed your numerous worldly videos, and always have enjoyed Honda products. After watching your travels, I bought my first ADV bike, which is a 2020 ATASES. Have 6000 km, travelled a ton of my BC province this past month, and can't believe what I've been missing! Thank you Will, from Bill :-)
Glad you posted again. Love your videos. I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 2017 and would love to upgrade for the new features but can't justify the money......Ride on!
Well great to see you again ! Mightily impressed with the way your throwing that big adventure sport around off road. Still the best motorcycle vlogger even if in small portions now 😫
Good to see you back on your upgrade! Currently trying to decide between your mates standard one and the rally pro....my head hurts...tough choice....great footage by the way!!
Good to see you back. Thanks to your vlogs I bought myself the Africa Twin CRF1000 DCT, model 2019. Love it! Keep riding and filming (and try to keep the camera still ;-) )
Glad to see this... I've been watching your videos for a while, but only this year have I went and got a bike - only problem is I can't get my licence (UK) - I passed the first part (CBT) but then everything has naturally been called off due to Covid. So for months I've been sat with a bike but not legally allowed to ride it D: So video's like yours are the next best thing for me atm, and I'm properly jealous :D
So good to see your work again...enjoy the ride as much as you can...god bless....by the way...your vlogs and reviews tipped the balance for me last year and I got my ATAdvS, manual. Well the local version of the IRS had a helpful nudge in it too...buy thats another story. Be well Willam.
Hi William. Well done on your awesome content. You put so many miles on your moto which gives Africa Twin owners insight into things we need to look out for. For example, the 100000km review was all I needed to watch to make me sleep really peacefully at night :). To me, less is more on a long journey because there is less that could go wrong (I know you already know this). However, Hondas are one of the most reliable brands so if the $1000000 is ready go and buy a few 2020's :). For now, I'm with you on this and wouldn't upgrade right away to a more complicated machine unless I start to struggle to pull levers, etc., due to old age. Haha. Keep up the great videos.
Great to have you back! Thanks for the terrific vid. I did a similar trip on my AT on the other side of Corona--late March. Have you been down to Bajia de Los Angeles? Great spot. Also the ride up to the observatory is twisty fun. Always love your spirit.
Good to see ya again William! Keep posting! The AT rocks! Would love one, but the budget doesn't allow it for now ... the NC 750X will be kept for a while longer! Corona and aviation business, tough times!
Great vid! Beautiful photography on the riding portions! Makes me want to go bad! The new ATAS had some great features like the windshield and the cruise control. Not sure I would like fiddling with the screen thing. I think in that department I like the simplicity of my 2017.
Good to see you again! Good looking bike. I like the 2016 model much better. Can't wait to see more content. I just picked up a yamaha super tenere. Can't wait to start my new adventure!
Good to see you riding. Crazy time. Covid shit has crashed our plans. Prepared my bike on March, than lockdown has come so stayed home, prepared bike again. Now do some plan B to hit the road by my double prepared bike. Hope with no virus surprices again.
Trust me came across your channel now, and didn't hesitate to drop a text . I was looking for someone who did world ride on Africa twin which is my dream bike. I will be watching all your vlogs from start of your ride thanks for posting this vedio. Am very happy to see you vlogs as am crazy about africa twin and your ride plans
I picked up my L4 in the first week of April. Outstanding ride. I still have my KLR but will probably sell it next spring as the AT is so much more capable. I've got the OSCO oiler, A faux pelican case on the tail, Outback Mototrek pannier racks, and the crash bars are next on my list. Try the Mosko Moto Nomad tank bag. I like it because it is smaller so you don't fill it with tons of stuff that you don't need to access on a regular basis. Big enough for what you need, but not so big as it gets in the way. I also absolutely Love that it has a hydration bladder as I do not like to wear anything on my back. Enjoy the ride William and remember: Outside of a Dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a Dog, it's too dark to read!!!!!
Hi William, great video, the drone shots, (like the follow along), are excellent, as is the variety of cool music. Glad you were able to escape to Mexico, always wanted to get down to Mike's Sky Ranch, at least now I know to bring a vehicle that can handle it. Would appreciate your opinion, as I'm in the market for a bike, and consider 3-5 yr. old AT, Super Tenere, (I realize their porky, but I love real cruise control, which I could ad to an older FT), or even a KTM 990 SMT, (not an advr. bike, but with tires, side plate crash bars, maybe for fire-roads). I believe you mentioned owning a KTM of some size in the past, I'm about your size, have lots of motocross miles decades ago, but see myself doing 80 / 20 road to dirt riding. Would like to include a pillion at times. Thanks in advance, (btw, is that a merino wool, lt. wt. long sleeve, I have one that looks identical by GoLite)?
Hi William. No more trips for you? I miss you being on the road, it is such nice content. Hope you're planning a long trip soon. Best wishes from Madrid.
Bloody hell, that's a lot of messing around with the TFT before moving. As I get older everything seems to get more complicated, the exact opposite that one needs.
I can't tell if you're joking... The display flickers because of the frame rate of the camera mismatching with the frame rate of the display causing that visual effect. To your eye it looks totally normal.
I have to agree with you on the tank bag. It's just fine on the freeway and regular roads... windy roads with potholes, or any off road... it's in the way. Into Storage for the Tank Bag.
Glad your back, In one of your older vlogs you mention the brand of the base layers you use,I thinks they are from the UK ,does anyone know the brand name ? Thanks in Advance
Great content keep it up! For your camera(s), I have been waiting to see if you'd address camera thoughts as your footage is always crisp. Your gear list shows a 70D? Is that what you are using for all of your selfie video chat segments?!?!? It just seems like a pig to lug around vs. a action camera/gopro curious as to your mindset here. Any recommendation on the gopro you've used in the past or the GP8 in this video outside of the youtube downscaling...... Thanks
William, please help!! What's the best tank bag you've come across for the AT....min 15ltr. I've had a couple of the Givi one but want a change!! Thanks
I have had a few but the last one is the best for me on my 2016 AT: Wolfman Enduro, not too big and it does not interfere with the knees when standing.
Hi, I noticed that you used the Yukon 130 tank bag. Just wondering what Tank bag are you using on your 2016 AT and in case you use the Yukon 130, are any interference with handlebar controls?
i have a question for you if you dont mind, do they have an unlimited sim data over that can cover all of south america? if so does it go on to also cover over America and canada to??
@@WilliamGloege hi mate thank you so much for the reply very nice of you, but in south america does the same sim work say from Argentina to Columbia or is it change each country??
@@WilliamGloege Still shut down up here. Our numbers are extremely low and everything is starting to open up but AC is still restricted including this program "until further notice". Your VLOG's led me to this service and totally opened my mind to shipping my bike to be able to follow in your footsteps, soon hopefully. Keep it up my friend. If you ever need somewhere to stop in Southern Ontario shoot me a line, we have a horse farm just off the main highway here so tons of camping space for you :D For those looking for information on what William mentioned in his comment. www.aircanada.com/cargo/en/shipping/shipping-solutions/ac-dgr/motorcycle.html
I heard that if you drink the pool water at Mike's Sky Ranch it'll kill the CO-Vids. ;) Great drone footage of the scenery. Good thinking to get more out of your AT. Did you hang on to your KLR?
On the DCT this time. Awesome!! What are your thoughts on it. I'm on my third Africa Twin DCT. I loved my first one so much, when it got written off I replaced it with the exact same bike, just a different colorway. When I got rear ended I replaced that 2nd one with my current one, just a different colorway. And i'm loving my bike.
Thanks for sharing Willam! Welcome back. How did you like the DCT, did you find a meaningful difference from the manual? Thanks again. (Your neighbor from Sunnyvale, riding 2018 ATAS)
I was following Jon. Go to san Vicente, turn west to coast, ride north. Then from Ensenada head toward San Felipe, look for mikes sky rancho sign... turn south
Hey bro, sick video. If you are down let’s do a ride back country Baja. I have a BMW 850 ADV I can ride and we can do a side by side comparison.. hit me up if you are down. Happy New Year!
