So I just saw this at Lincoln Center. It’s such a great show. And what’s also exciting about this show is that it can be stolen from from almost every part. In this version, Douglas Sills steals the hell out of it. At Lincoln Center, Ruthie Ann Miles (and Cynthia Erivo) stole the show. I hope this show gets done more and more. It’s an absolute delight. We all applauded when the right people finally wound up with their right counterparts. Just a fantastic romantic comedy. Really one of the few perfect romantic comedies.
I've only scanned act one - but it already may be the most perfectly cast, acted, and sung Night Music there ever was. And the orchestra. Perfection, all around... We need another Sondheim Celebration...
Whoa. Agree that this was an excellent production. BUT - Glynis Johns, Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory, et. al. of the original 1973 Bway show were perfect!
Considering we're in a renaissance of sondheim right now I would love to see a revival of this wonderful show if the Lincoln production transfers. and a revival if anyone can whistle a musical that's incredibly relevant despite it's flaws and being a infamous flop.
Randy Graff is a goddess! I saw her as Fantine and Oolie/Donna on Broadway. Side note: I love Douglas Sills but why does he look like Captain Freddie Mercury in this??
