so I gotta say, being an American, I would get confused trying to drive a car over there. but watching this video and seeing you splitting, I get it immediately. Anyone that sees me cutting thru stopped traffic thinks I'm crazy, but its easy. Just as easy is what you are doing much of this video, moving between traffic going in the same direction and oncoming traffic. if youre on a small bike, its a breeze... I got splitting immediately, which is probably why. I didn't know it was called something, or that drivers get pissy when you do it, or that some states issue traffic tickets for it, whereas others don't care even if it is illegal. just felt natural to me, as natural as it felt to ride once I got the courage to get on my bike and go....and I love watching any video with a POV, especially on a bike i cannot afford lol. All the Motorcyclist Magazine's reviews are done in California traffic, where lane-filtering AND lane-splitting are both legal, and every rider out there is well - versed. I would like to know how you traversed that concrete island you stumbled upon @ 5:50....I noticed the video cuts there. I would guess you probably had to wait for someone to let you in, after the light changed, of course. if it was a bigger island, I would, alternatively, say your best bet is to just ride up onto it.
Hi icand, Thanks for the comment !! Lane splitting is something that just tends to come with experience and how confident and comfortable you are on the road. This comes with time and practice. I do not understand why some places, countries or states make lane splitting illegal, It is perfectly safe to do if you are sensible about it eg. dont lane split when doing 110mph haha. But yeah if your sensible about it I dont see how it is dangerous or in any way warrant it being illegal in some places. In terms of people getting annoyed when a bike splits, I have only ever had 2 times where a person has been annoyed at me but then tend to calm down when I explain to them that it is legal and so on. To be honnest here in the UK most of the time vehicles will actually tend to move over slightly to allow you more room to lane split past them which is always nice feeling. And in responce to your point about 5:50 in the video I got as close to the car in front, looked behind me at the car behind that car and made sure that they see me and realise what I am intending to do by either pointing or nodding (I nodded). The car driver behind at 5:50 actually gave me a nod and gave me a thumbs up as if to say "yeah no problem" So when the lights went green the car driver actually waited a moment for me to get going before pulling off himself. I guess its proof that there are actually some really nice and cool people out there. (Luckily at the time of recording this video I obviously was on a very much smaller bike so it made things a bit easier, I tend to be a bit more cautious now I am on my big bike.) I have the same Honda grom as this one. But very very dark gray. It looks sometimes black on pictures with also red honda stickers. I really like the red honda stickers, i have the same. I am a woman 154 cm long And this bike is amazing.

I had to watch it a couple of times to make sure I didnt hit the car. But no its from when I crashed the mirror kept coming loose. Got some new mirrors now so all good.
I have seen many tall guys ride these bikes, and they look and ride just fine. I would suggest going to a dealership and asking to look and sit on the bike :)
As long as you have a provisional licence, are 17 years old or older and have completed your cbt (compulsory basic training) then you can ride one of these with L plates, if you want to ride without l plates you can do your A1 Licence at 17.

It does a little. It doesn't do it all the time, but if it gets hot enough it will rumble when you come off the throttle, hold it at the tweak point and then you rev it a tiny bit and sometimes it will make a nice poppings :) It wont with the stock exhaust that comes with the bike, but with the Yoshimura RS-2 that I have yeah. At 0.12 in the video it pops a little.
hahah yes, I had that problem a lot in the time I owned the grom. But to be honest If you watch some of my more recent videos I have also had it on my MT07 a couple of times. -CM
@@CorruptMoto I currently own a CBF125, it's not so bad for it, but the CBR125 I had was an absolute nightmare, also going from Neutral to 1st is a pain, constantly having to roll the bike or let the clutch out slightly 😂 That's quite interesting, that's the bike I'm going to end up getting in 8 months once I'm 24 I think, seems like I'll never escape it 😂 How do you find the MT07?
@@Gobbbbb Absolutely love the MT07, has been my dream bike as long as I can remember. And you can get an MT07 when your 19 on a restricted A2 licence (if your in the UK)
@@CorruptMoto Yeah I'm in the UK, I just don't see any point doing the A2 now, I may as well wait till next year when I can do the direct access :) Plus it'll give me time to save my pennies haha.
@@Gobbbbb Hahaha yeah. Thats fair enough mate. I'm only 21 so I can do my full A in about a year, and ill probably be moving up to an mt09 or the mt10, not sure which yet haha :)
@@WcWGoldbergWcW I've ridden 500cc and 250cc bikes and they are fun becuase of the speed, but the Grom is just so fun, whipping it around corners, wheelies, all sorts so much fun.
