30 % of his passes were behind the line of scrimmage, only 25% of his passes traveled 11 yds (lowest in this draft class), he looked to the sideline for every audible, and his passes were determined pre-snap, he never won a meaningful game in his 6 yr college career (0 Pac12/SEC Titles, 0 CFP appearances). I think he'll be a decent backup, but we already have 3 of those on our roster

How many college championships has Brady won I'll wait...........answer none o pack 12/ sec championships but he has won 7 Superbowls so the college stuff you mentioned is irrelevant
@blackandgreyedout8337 1st of all, you're a 🤡 for bringing Brady into this, 2nd he played in the Big10, not the SEC or Pac12. 3rd, he won a natty with Michigan in 1997. U don't know shit. Nice try tho
I read somewhere that Telesco loved Nix so I wouldn't be surprised if we took him in round 2. I'd rather have Penix or give up the farm for JD. But Telesco knows what he's doing (I hope)
Another great breakdown Carl. I couldn't agree more. I live in Oregon and my son in law is OU alum, I watched several games and I find Nix to be a little disappointing, you're right he misses a lot wide open receivers down field. I also think that he does not read coverage very well, and if you can't read a college defense you sure as hell are going find it harder to read NFL defenses. If it comes down to Nix or Penix I'll take Penix for sure.
I am not too high on any QB this year besides Caleb and even he worries me that he might not have the killer instinct to win at the NFL level. I think the sleeper Brock Purdy type of fighter is Jordan Travis. What made Brady a legend was his drive to win at all costs. I just don't see it in any of these QB besides JD and Jordan Travis. The issue with JD is we would have to give up way too much to get him and his frame is wafer. McCarthy is nothing more than the next Stidham that is overhyped from winning the national championship and probably Harbaugh as his HC. Every year these f'n foozball know it all idiots overhype QBs and I just laugh.
Nix isn’t right for us. If we miss out on the big 6 I say we wait for the kid from Florida st. In the 6th. He won’t be ready this year but could be dynamic next year.
Well Getsy is certainly well known for his screen game, er - passing attack. I heard a podcast recently talking about Chicago's new OC who said there's a big difference between someone who knows how to call plays and someone who knows how to call a game. I'm assuming he was alluding to Getsy.
Nix would be a master in the 49ers offense. He just loves the short high % passing game. He does get the ball out quick so he would've been a God sent for Josh McDaniel but if you want the threat of the deep ball forget it.
Drafting Nix or Penix at 13 is a huge reach. Can take this team to playoffs or superbowl? Penix might throw deep ball better than AOC but neither is any more mobile and without O line will get beat up. Our biggest need is RT, take the best available at 13, hope that Penix falls to us at 44, but don't trade draft capital for questionable QB, solidify other positions of need and draft a QB next year.
Someone who can throw under pressure shows me he can excelle in the NFL. he probably hits the long ball under pressure better. Still like Penix but Nix will be good in the NFL.
Bo Nix's upsides are elusiveness, throwing players open, rarely turning the ball over and avoiding major injuries. His downside is he doesn't have the best deep ball. Michael Penix is pretty much the opposite in every category. I'll take Nix over Penix for the A Raiders as they have a poor O Line which makes opportunity for the deep ball few and far between. They're in a division with the likes of Chris Jones and Khalil Mack so any QB needs to be elusive and durable to survive.
See this is why I am saying unless its Daniels....and then I wouldn't trade the farm for him. I wouldn't even draft a QB in the first 3 rounds. I would go defense and o-line and my reasoning is I think AOC can do everything you need currently, and we have Gardner Minshew which has shown he can make plays too. There is also so many teams ahead of the raiders just dying to take a QB and that will drive up the price. Raiders have been my team for at least the last 35 years, and I am tired of seeing the raiders drafting these possibly high potential guys and 95% of them never pan out. They need to draft the most can't miss guys available.
So a reverse Penix...Coaches say they like Penix because you can teach the short stuff but you can't teach the deep ball... literally heard that from one of the insiders.
Carl I don't think daniels wants to play for commanders... everyone is saying Peter's the gm told him last year he was not nfl talent and to give up...just my 2 cents jj or maye go 2 and we trade up to 3. Everyone knows daniels wants to play with ap. Somehow we gonna trade for ba too.
I don't see his game translating well to the NFL. You have to throw the ball down the field or defenses can stack the box, and play the short passes and the run. For all of you "fans" that called Carr "Checkdown Charlie" because he didn't stretch the field very often (even though he had one of the highest deep ball completion percentages in the league for most of his career) don't tell me you want this guy. I'll take Penix if we're deadset on a QB in the 1st round, bc JD5 will probably cost us draft capital for the next 3 years, and possibly a player or 2. Otherwise, there's good QB value that will fall to later rounds, and taking a Fuaga at 13 would fill a huge need.
From A born Raider i like Bo nix , but Penix has a little more upside reminds me of tua , but if penix Achilles injury is a problem for a us, than i would go bo Nix. But than i would take a look at Milton from Tennessee 🤔🤔🤔 JUST WIN BABY
@@RayLuv-br1zf you do realize those throws he’s making are difficult throws right, I know a lot of us get impressed with a 70 yard shot down the seem but that’s more a God given gift than talent. Remember Jamarcus Russel could throw far too
The guy executes. 45 TD's, 3 Int's, 77% completion percentage, #1 under pressure. Great passer on the run, great run decisions. He's got the arm, notice the fly routes weren't under thrown. Hmmm
No hate here. I just don't know how you come to that conclusion when Nix doesn't throw deep well and Penix is great at it. Remember, Pierce said he's trying to bring that back.
@@raiderfilms6482 to me one of the biggest things is how a QB handles pressure. I think it’s one of the more important traits that translates to NFL. I hate seeing QBs get rattled and throw balls away too soon or get off reads so fast to go to the check downs. And Penix does that same thing except is accuracy takes a massive dip. His adjusted completion percentage under pressure is one of the lowest in this class and is even lower than Zach Wilson when he came out, which back then I was thinking he would bust because of the same stat. It doesn’t get easier to handle pressure when the players are bigger and faster. So my biggest concern with Pennix is that. It’s one of the most glaring issues I have with him. People say “it was only the Michigan game” and no it wasn’t. That was just the only one he lost. He’s very streaky and relies way too much on YOLO balls. Some games like Arizona or Utah or Washington state he’s missing wide open receivers 3 out of every 5 throws it seemed. And lucky by the 4th quarter they were still in striking range to recover and win. Now I’m not claiming he’s going to be a bust or whatever, I’m still very new to trying to understand what to look for in QBs. All im saying is i honestly don’t think Penix is the right guy for the raiders and those struggles he has perhaps could keep us from ever reaching that next level. Again this is just my opinion.
Love the intro Carl.. Nix ain’t my favorite. His game looks a lot like Carr’s at best. Nothing to get excited about. I like Rattler better than Nix or Penis. Guess you’re gonna do one on Rattler now? Why not? 😆 If we can’t get the top four QBs I say we back out and wait til the 2nd or 3rd to grab a QB. Go CB at 13 W/Arnold..
Nah, Carr could throw the deep ball with the best of em, and make checks at the line of scrimmage by himself pre-snap. Bo Nix isn't that type of player, at least not yet. Who knows if he ever will be. Devonte needs another guy who can get him the ball consistently no matter where he is on the field. If the Raiders draft Bo Nix, that means that we already have our starting QB for the season on the roster.
@@MuthaFknZeus. Wow, you can tell that by how? If you got that kind of skill you wouldn’t be sitting in the recliner. You should be right up there with all the most experienced GM’s in league history. It’s funny how you fans get that shit in your head. Rattler was and is a better QB than Nix just by stats alone. IMO
@maxfacts1 WTF are you talking about? Of course he'll be available at 13, but nobody in their right mind will pick him there. He's projected in the 2nd rd at best, and for good reason.
Most of you cats on here have no idea what you are looking at or talking about nix is more NFL ready than JD and penix they are just talked about more because of speed
He's never won a big game in college. 0 Pac12/SEC Titles, 0 CFP appearances. Got beat not once, but twice by Penix Jr & UW & lost in the Pac12 Championship game. How is he better under pressure? 😂🤣 He had good numbers but was 2nd in the Country in passing yds behind...... Michael Penix Jr
@@Cry_AboutIt Michael Penix has an average PFF grade under pressure. Penix is only completing 43% of his passes when under pressure and also is the 2nd worst among the top 6 QBs at converting first downs under pressure. Oof facts.
