Carl I have a serious question and maybe you can help answer it for me. The quarter and 3 quarters that AOC was not able to complete a pass, was he throwing at the ground or in the stands. If I recall there were dropped passes in those quarters. I mean dude had great accuracy, I hate how he’s getting the shaft if the receivers weren’t catching all the passes. Or at least one for a damn completion. It’s a team sport. Yes quarterback is a big deal, but dude was a rookie and was out in a pressure cooker of a position to not only win now but save AP’s job. Now that the dust has settled, give the kid a chance for this year. If he can’t cut the mustard then it is what it is. I seen first round QB busts look at Justin Fields and Zack Wilson. Look at Justin Jameson and Marcus Mariota. Yall need to calm down or go back to watching the Queefs fan boys! Let the real men watch the Raiders!!!!
I do not want to say this but I feel AOC is below average possibly average at best. I understand how many Raider fans feel about Carr. Myself included. But AOC is two or three steps below Carr. We only had a decent season because our Defense at the end of the season was top in the NFL. AOC had ZERO to do with any of that he did not even complete 1 pass against the Chiefs for 3 quarters that is just horrible QB play not elite or even starter.
Hopefully the Raiders don't suck and Hopefully the Raiders are a playoff caliber team. Oh and beating the Reigning World Champion Chiefs twice would definitely be a significant moment in the Raiders season. I believe in The Raiders 🏈 I have faith in the Raiders 🏉 The Raiders CAN DO IT!!!🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏉🏈🏈🏉🏈🏉
Folks are sleeping on Anthony Brown, Jr. at QB. I'm not sure why the Ravens let him go after his rookie season but I've watched plenty of his Oregon tape and his only Raven's start. He appears to have more tools than O'Connell. I see why the Raiders didn't move up for an untested rookie draft QB.
No excuses? Carrbage had 9 years and Farva has already surpassed Carrbage in his 1st year alone under extreme, unfair situations. And he has no excuses? This is low Iq crap!
Farva has already surpassed Carrbage in his 1st year, in far more extreme conditions. Yet we give Carrbage 9 years to suck ass? Yeah, a clear sign of idiocy.
You need the help. First off, he was a rookie. Secondly, the Raiders did throw the ball. O'Connell did what they asked. Third of all, it was inclement weather.
Give the guy chance. No huge expectations for our Raider’s this year anyway. I wish the man nothing but massive success. If not , we draft our savior next year. But I hope we find some kind of magic in our current roster to kick the doors in and shock the world! Just win baby!
The defense will keep the score low enough that all the team needs is a game manager that doesn't turn the ball over. What comes to mind is a Trent Dilfer or a Jim Plunket, even Kenny Stabler was a game manager. This team is going to be all about keeping the game close and finishing at the end. I don't see O'Connell consistently throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns a game. I see the raiders giving up 20 points or less and giving the offensive chances to closeout close games in the 4th quarter. Last year, Antonio Pierce didn't do the greatest job managing the clock and made some questionable play calling that cost the team. If the raiders are going to make the playoffs sloppy play calling and turnovers could be the difference in wining and losing. What comes to mind is when Mike Singletary coached the 49ers and was all over the place as a rookie coach. If the Raiders beat the Ravens on the road September 15th I'll be a believer. If they lose because of bad play calling or sloppy quarterback play it'll be another lost season. Just my two cents.
Not really. We're excited to see how much better he can get after finishing with 8TD/0INT, spending all offseason at the workout facility, and being the starter from day one instead of the third stringer just thrown in there mid-season with no reps and an OC who had never called a play before.
Thanks for calling AOC out! You know who I feel has no excuses? Tyree Wilson!! With Maxx and Konce at the edge and Wilkinson right beside him, he better make some plays and stop taking some plays off!
AOC is going to be a winning playoff QB this year. This team has elite weapons at WR and TE. This team reminds me of the Baltimore Ravens championship team built on elite defense and a strong running game with a game manager at QB. However, this Raiders roster has superior offensive firepower.
We've got more than a game manager. He can make every throw on the field, just wait till the game slows down. We'll be top five on d and a top ten borderline five offense
@Magesty923 brother I know I agree with you 💯. Had AOC entered the draft in 2022 he would have been a 1st round draft pick. I think AOC will be a top 15 nfl playoff winning QB
Exactly AOC or Minshew have everything they need if either has an average or above average year that shouldn't mean they should get the Carr treatment n be the automatic starter Any good or better QB should be getting 4500+ yards with these weapons with 30ish TD's or more
He's not totally unproven. He played well enough the last four games for AP to say that any other QB on the roster will have to beat him out. If they were not convinced that he could not be a starter they would have done more during the offseason to acquire more QB talent.
@@ronaldmorgan7632 Go look at all his interviews he was hot after getting a quarterback until telesco told him to calm the f*** down. Cost too much to trade up or we would have a rookie LOL. You can also look into the fact that the raiders did indeed try to trade up.
Great video Carl , I have no doubt AOC is going to great this season ! With all these weapons, the beefed up O-line , and a top defense getting the offense more possessions he will be an unstoppable force !
Aiden didnt make any excuses last year when it was a shit show, so he wont make excuses this year like Carr did. We gave Carr 9 years for nothing so theres no reason to give O'Connell 9 years too 😂 ... but he wont need that long.
We can say the offensive line will be good enough but until we see the stop watch on snap to throw times that are rushed vs un rushed we won’t know. If they can give him top 5 time- he will dominate. Between 5-10th best in the league then we will win 13+ games easy. Raiders have a bad taste in their mouth from dc4. But he was accurate. He also was king of fumbles more than one season. Aiden doesn’t fumble often. Aiden is psycho accurate out to 50 yards when going to the sidelines even, so down the middle he is on target 70 yards. The big issue with that is timing is MASSIVE, and only practice with individual receivers makes that work. Pocket passers simple need that extra 0.5 seconds of protection. The world can say it’s unrealistic but have a hard time denying brady’s success- granted he had invented rules like TUCK and deflate gate to help him along the way. Look up the time in pocket brady gets, or mahomess before he starts to scramble. Aiden had 3/4 that time for 90% of his passes last season. People want to compare QB but don’t do it with a stop watch far too often. I will say the same thing I did about Parker, Leatherwood, etc.: I hope I am wrong about our right side line and they dominate for pass protection. But having grown up in Vegas I know odds and know where my money would be placed if I ever was to bet against the Raiders- but I will never put money against my team.
All these people who throw shade on O'Connell should go cheer for the Chargers! Because your definitely no Raiders fans. Real fans don't talk shit about their team.
He doesn't have the arm Talent to just fall out all of a sudden for no reason. He also doesn't have the athleticism to avoid negative plays which would allow him the chance to ball out. Like 99% of late round QB draft picks, the scouts had it right with him. He's mediocre at best
@@alexchavez3383watch some tape. QB school has some really good breakdowns. QB is more than arm talent and athleticism, it’s about being smart. Making the right read and play. I think AOC can do just that. To your point about late rounders, we can say the same about 1st rounders. I bet we can name more QB busts in the 1st round than actual great players.
Aiden will get 10 years of BS excuses from the fan base just like Carr… because he is a Carr clone! The only bright spot is he is a ton cheaper. He just isn’t starter material…. And that’s okay for a 4th rounder!
Wrong and wrong. I can tell you dont watch or you dont know what youre watching. Carr curls up into a ball before anyone gets close to him. Joey Bosa said it publicly but everyone knew it . AC stands tall as long as possible and isnt scared.
@galexymitzelplik9560 Your delusional. Did you not see him go 0-10 the final 3 quarters against the Chiefs, or not put up a single point against the Vikings? The defense played lights out and bailed him out the entire time he was a starter. He throws a couple balls into a net and everyone gets excited. I've seen him get sacked 7 times in one game and have 6 sec with a clean pocket and still throw an Int. His completion% under pressure is 50%. Enough with the BS hype already
@@Cry_AboutIt He was 9/21 against the Chiefs. The Chiefs had the best pass defense in the league, and they decided to focus in on stopping the pass. That is why the Raiders decided to switch to the run, with White going for 145yds. Sounds like your desperate to focus on the negative, so I'll leave you to it.
@ronaldmorgan7632 I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist. If Aidan is your starting your starting QB, you're not contending for a ring, and if you belive otherwise I'd love to sell you some beach front property in Idaho.
No excuses? Let’s hope AOC won’t need any but if he does, having to deal with a new offensive coordinator who, by some accounts, couldn’t figure out how to make Justin Fields more productive last year and got him traded away for a pittance, may very well end up being a valid excuse. Once again, I hope the hell not. But Luke Getsy has not called a single play for our offense which nearly 100% consists of players he’s never coached…players he doesn’t know and players who don’t know him. The Raiders giving Getsy a second chance to prove his worth as a NFL offensive coordinator is, to me, akin to the second bite of the apple we gave McDaniels to show his prowess as an NFL head coach. How did that work out?
@@RK-ck6pl That may be true but the Bears rid themselves of both he and Getsy after last season, Getsy after only serving one year as OC. In fact, Las Vegas will be Getsy’s 12th college or NFL coaching job since 2007 following a stint with the 49ers as a practice squad player. Best I can tell, he never lasted two years in any of those jobs, just one-year in most all of them. Red flag y’all?
@@netkhuna I'm sure they included all the chipping and helping by the tes and rbs, which was one less wr for Aidan to throw to. Btw, in case you didn't know, additional help to the Oline is not a good thing.
Continuity is key along the offensive line. Drafted a gaurd / tackle in the draft, was vital moving forward. T. Munford, I expect will take a leap upward toward claiming the right tackle position. OTA's and training camp will tell whether we are ready to compete come game day. Barring injuries AOC will prove the naysayers wrong about seeking a qualified candidate to quarterback the Raiders. The guy has all the physical ability to execute effectively an offense. Strong arm and accurate!!! You'll will see.
I think you're crazy as hell. If you think Aiden O'Connell is going to get us anywhere. The Raiders should trade for quarterback Hendon hooker from the Detroit Lions. He was a far better prospect out of last year's draft. He has more athleticism stronger arm. Hell. The only thing he isn't is taller and he's 6'3
@@brandonchristopher9657He can't read a defense to save his life if he watches Tennessee tape. It's the obvious reason why a plus athlete with plus arm strength wasn't a high pick. Tennessee gave him two reeds on only half the field for his passing plays
AOC is a clear upgrade over our previous QB. He just needs more experience under his belt. He can make passes only a few in the league can make. Watch AOC cook with these weapons!
