very true, awesome province lucky enough visit Shanxi from Datong to Yuncheng , too bad dont have time visit Mian shan and Hukou waterfall

Shanxi, in the older texts as Shansi, has a long diverse history. Being the 18th most populated province with a population of 34.9 million, the same size as Uzbekistan, they are subdivided into 11 prefectures with Taiyuan as its capital, 119 counties, 1388 townships, etc… Shanxi is also the king of coal with a GDP of RMB¥1.765 trillion ranking 21st.
