Hey brother, i just got my hands on one of these and I REALLY don’t want to have to re-write my code plug. I wanted to ask you if there’s a was to just copy and paste the code plug for my XTS5000 into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Frank
Yep, same way as any newer Motorola. Just open up two windows of CPS, one with the new cpg, and one with the old.then grab the top of the tree and drag and drop it to the new codeplug
@@anongator so I plugged in the radio to the computer and it’s not recognizing it. I get an error message that says “NEXTGEN 10 connection error error context: 24, status: 80004005” any ideas what can I do to get this radio programmed? Thank you in advance
That antenna is exactly like cell phone antennas of the time, it’d probably thread right in. The only difference is the fat part at the end is longer, since it’s lower frequency.
Hello, I know you did this VID a couple of years ago, but was wondering how you program this radio. From the front keys? A programming cable? Would you happen to have a part number for a cable...If one exists. Also, I live in a heavily wooded rural area of Texas. A couple of volunteer firemen have expressed interest in this unit. I was wondering about the output power and how you think it would burn through woods with that short antenna? Are batteries still readily available for this unit? Thanks. Matt
I would not advise this unit for the woods. It's built to be used on a city wide trunking system with good coverage. It puts out ~4w on vhf and 3w on UHF You program using an older DTR cable, or buy the programming cable off shop.motorolasolutions as it's still available Then use astro25 CPS like any other xts
The antenna can be extended up like an older cellphone. Parts are impossible to find, batteries are old and I'm going to have to find out how to recell the ones I have. I do not advise this be used by any PS agency. Let alone FDs. It doesn't have the same ruggedness as a 2500 or 5000. I would recommend y'all get 2500s or 5000s with brand new power products impress compatible batterys and impress chargers
Hello, I have such a radio station, please tell me if it is possible in CPS to configure the display backlight to turn on when receiving a signal in analog and digital mode?
@@anongator I love my KFD Tool and their pricing on Hirose cables is way better than the Bat. Looking forward to seeing how it works secure with the APX
@@NigelBallard Seeing as its P25 standard AES, it will proably work fine. But you never know... My main priority is getting a TEA1 keyloader for my TETRA radios....
Sweet. I really only need one.. dont know what your doing with three XD I'm on that group an have talked to Kevin, he already sold his VHF 4k. Only has a UHF now.
