A Look at the River Don, DDAA, Sprotbrough.

Join me on the bank of the River Don on the DDAA controlled stretch at Sprotbrough in Doncaster. I check out some of the well known pegs & areas.
Come June 16th the River will be open to wet a line & enjoy the lovely wildlife that resides on the banks of the River.
Barbel, Bream, Perch, Chub & Roach are just some of the variety of fish that can be caught in this area of the Don valley.
DDAA year book is £30 & day ticket is £5 on the bank.

Propper irrelevant to fishing but ive been trying to figure out where to launch a kayak at the don and this video actually highlights the better spot , accross the river by the lock is the lower platform 😂 cheers for posting

Great info👍🏻. Want to start fishing here, normally do trotting at Lady Pit Farm fast stretch for small chub and barbel if you know it (Pisces)? Want to find somewhere similar but closer as I live at Finningley, any pegs similar to Lady Pit, that's if you know it of course? 😊 Or anywhere else on this license for trotting maybe.

Hi mate, yes I know Lady Pitt, a friend fishes there often, The Don is faster at the prison stretch & lots of over hanging trees there.. l fish the Dearne a lot at Harlington. very fast n shallow here n a gravel bottom. Lots of Chub n a few nice Barbel there & it's free fishing ☺. Some of my older videos are on this stretch.. give it a try mate, all the best or the new season 👍🎣

Hi Gordon, I have only fished the prison section once but it looked really good, it has faster water & lots of over hanging willows so ideal for Chub & Barbel, will be fishing it more come June. Another RU-vid channel has videos of this area, check out UK fishing vlog. Will paste a link asap, cheers 👍🎣

why do you fish more in the dearne rather than don dont have to answer cheers

Hi mate, good question, I do like the shallow faster water in the Dearne in the Summer, lots more good size Chub there, but the Don is good for feeder fishing, catch loads of good Bream n Silver's, is probably better for Barbel n Perch too.. I just really like fishing small Rivers... Will get on the Don more tho this year... Cheers for watching & all the best in your fishing pal 👍🎣
