Check the subframe bushings, it's easy to check, have someone rock the car forward and back while you look underneath right by the control arms. If you see where they're mounted to moving as the car stops forward and back, the subframe bushings will need to be replaced. Make sure every switch works. Remove the Direct Ignition Cassette and see if it has an SEM label on it. If it doesn't, make sure the exhaust isn't restricted by taking it for a drive and just give 'er. Either a flashing CEL will come up meaning cylinder misfire, or the car will be lethargic when really trying to accelerate. With the engine running, open the hood and carefully listen for any hisses, low pitch growls or high pitch whistling (hissing is damaged vacuume line, low pitch growl is hole in flex pipe, and high pitch whistle is manifold bolts coming loose), for the high pitch whistle, you'll need someone to hit the accelerator while you're listening. Also, check all the lights as well.
I have a 2003 saab 9-5 now i am from the states but mine has on star aswell, these cars are awesome i only had mine for about 6 months until i bottomed out and put a hole in the oil pan 😭
Loving the car content Kobie. The high mileage on that car is great. Just shows what you can get out of the car. Here in the UK we're to quick to change cars. I'm certainly going to keep my current car for the long haul this time.
Prices in the UK seem to be rising - especially for pre facelift 9-5’s . I was lucky to find a 2004 Aero estate last summer for £1150. I absolutely love it. Second hand cars here in France go for ridiculous prices. I did a Maptun stage one ethanol remap on it. Just love it !
