A played ball would be worth significantly more than a non-played ball. If the signature is decently legible you could get $50,000-$100,000 for it.

@J W I agree. However, there seems to be this belief that Ruth would absolutely dominate in any era which is just ridiculous to believe for me.

@J W My general rule for my "all time team" is I take players from when WW2 ended to present. Or 1946 to present. So guys like DiMaggio, Williams, or Musial qualify. The same goes for Mays and Mantle. As a matter of fact, Mays is my starting Centerfielder on it. However, guys like Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, Ott, or Foxx do not qualify.

Ok so is one or two black players per team gonna all of a sudden make his career 206 OPS+ plummet to scrub numbers? How about guys like Willie Mays and Jackie Robinson playing before Asian ballplayers made their way stateside? Are those Mickey Mouse numbers too?
