The NBA won't be the same without him. Nash left a mark on the NBA that will remain for the ages. One of the all-time greats. 2x MVP 8x All-Star 3x All-NBA First Team 2x All-NBA Second Team 2x All-NBA Third Team 5x Assists leader 4x 50-40-90 club

F'real I cried a little bit when I first heard this. Nash was the first player I ever watched play, and is without a doubt my favorite player of all time. Nash and Stat is the greatest duo I have ever witnessed with my own eyes in a live game. Best Sun of ALL TIME.

***** I respect him even more for it. He got us like 10000 picks from the Lakers to only play around 70 games in 3 years.

He was 1% field goal percentage from averaging a 50/40/90 for his career.. Crazy. His last years on LAL don't do his stats justice. He was involved and mainly the leader in 5 of the 11 greatest offenses of all time.. Wow.

Shaggy mofo championship really puts Kidd over the hump but Nash defs was the more electrifying player who could turn nothing into something as a huge Steve Nash I sometimes wish he left way sooner though I love the suns I really wanted him to play for a good organization and win. The suns really didn’t take care of him that stint when Steve Kerr was the GM was really good but that was short lived

Gary Thompson except it was. It was well known by the other owners that the league didn't like Robert sarver, the owner of the Suns, and because of that they didn't want the finals to end up in Phoenix, so the refs fixed games by making certain calls that let the other team win the game aka always the spurs or the lakers. In 2007 is was the spurs, and that BS suspension on amare and diaw

@brandonbrooksGMG
@brandonbrooksGMG 9 лет назад
Nash is very quick. You have to be quick and fast to get in the paint and nash did that consistently. He was like 6'1 so of course he wasn't going to be doing tomahawk dunks. Hell Chris Paul rarely dunks. But nash is very athletic.

@musicman1012345 9 лет назад
Yuri Marcolino Because I look at it objectively unlike the media who votes on that stuff with personal bias. Kobe was hated by the media not for his play but for who he was. Nash never had that problem. The fact of the matter is Kobe could have scored 80 points more than once if he had not sat out the entire fourth quarter for some of the games he played in 06. He also took a team full of bonafide scrubs to the playoffs in the west and almost beat the Suns in the first round. Kobe was definitely more valuable to the Lakers that year than Nash to the Suns.

Hands down the greatest point guard and human being I've witnessed in my life. Nash was a true treat to watch because he did it all without supreme athleticism only skill and fundamentals. Those 7 second or less Sun's were really a team that had a huge impact on how the game is played today with pace and everything. Sad because at one point the suns lineup had Nash, Marion, Joe Johnson, and could have had either iggy or Deng but they didn't value picks at that time and practically gave them away. Nash and Amare will go down second only to Stockton and Malone as the best pick and roll duo, just really sad Nash is finally gone end of an era for sure.

Nash ranks with the greatest point guards of all time and I'm sure Mark Cuban regrets trading him to the Suns.

Steve Nash was a heck of a guy. When the suns played the Wizards at Washington, the only way to get from the baseline seats to the sideline seats was to cross the corner of the court. Me and my father waited for the court to empty before we crossed, and before it emptied, Steve patted my dad on the back and said "go on ahead". Our seats were behind Steve on the bench, and after that Steve was talking to us the whole time he was sitting on the bench.

Imagine Steve playing at his peak in today's NBA, where shooting three's is half of the offensive plays for all teams. You're basically looking at what Steve would do just by watching Steph Curry. Their games emulate each other because Nash was Steph's favorite player growing up. But if Nash shot as many 3's per game as the average NBA point guards do today, Nash would go down as one of the greatest 3point shooters in history.. Steph Curry, known as the greatest three point shooter of all time has an other-worldly CAREER 3pt percentage of 43%... guess what Steve Nash's CAREER 3pt percentage was...43%!!! The only difference obviously is that Steph Curry shoots many more threes per game than Steve ever did. But in today's game, Steve Nash would literally emulate what Steph Curry is doing now, if he had shot the amount of 3's Steph does... Plus just like Steph Curry, Steve Nash is a wizard handling and passing the ball, and getting his teammates involved... he's an even a better passer than Steph Curry is... Steve Nash would be considered an even greater point guard than he is already known for...

no disrespect but the 03 mavs 05 and 06 suns were SEMI elite and not equal to the 88 mavs and the 76 84 89 90 and 93 suns

I think what worked for Steve Nash is that he came into the League with a profound sense of his place-as far as his skill-set, and knew how hard it would take to break out against that era’s PG quarterbacks. And he made up for that with an unimpeachable work ethic. For an unheralded kid who grew up playing soccer, Nash’s longevity in the NBA-not to mention two League MVPs, is remarkable. As far as lineages go, you can trace that back to Cousy, Stockton.

I am going to miss watching him. It makes me sad to think that he never won a championship.

I wish Nash ended his career on a good team. He got lure by Kobe to join his cancerous team, but only Dwight has time left to keep playing.

As an LA Lakers fan, hated trying to go through you in all those playoff series we've battled against you. However, in like any other chapter a new one opens and you begin a new one. Enjoy your life and take it easy. You've worked as hard as anybody in the NBA and you deserve what you have. You will be missed.

Love Nash but Jason Kidd is 2x better than him. Unlike Nash Kidd could play d and rebound like a center.

Kudos to steve nash. Should've retired earlier after his first season with the lakers. We will have to wait to see another pass first, 50/40/90 shooter pg. Stockton and him are the same, great PGs but too bad they both end up with no rings.

43 49 and 90 for a career. four 50 40 90 seasons. Only two of the seven players to get 50 40 90 have more than one and Nash doubled Bird's total of two with four. and third all time assists. How is this guy slept on? The most efficient scorer ever as a fact and the third best assister. Also a fact.

Never be another player like him. Damn good career. A ring doesn't Mean that you're good it means you're team is good. He just wasn't benefitted a good team.
