Great video, greath game. Looking at highlights of those players separately it's easy to say "he's better" "no, he's better, look at those flashy plays". But in a face to face game like this it becomes clear that the two are probably the closest match ever. Each is better at something and is a bit behind the other one at something else, both are now HoF, very similar playstyles. You just can't say for sure, I think the debates will go on forever and neither will win. Imo Kidd is a better defender, better passer overall, yet Nash is better under the hoop and better at 3 point. Also my personal favourite is Nash but again, those two are as much similar as they are different, like two sides of one coin. (Also deez balls when Nash ties the game 2 seconds before the end, k im done 4 real now)

This was like a video game. A lot of these points were scored with 15 - 17 seconds left on the shot clock from BOTH teams. Not just the Suns.

Interesting fact about this game is that it was played with new 2 panel design ball nba presented the same season with the mission to increase grip and anti-slippeness of it. Howerer in second half of the season league switched back to previous design ball cuz players were complaining that the new ball was even more slipery when wet or that beeing more grippy bothered players shooting rythim motion etc . Shaq once said that new ball was like out of toys shop and very childish. But players in this match didnt have any problems shooting basketball. That a great historical sequence, they were raining 3ees like crazy. Didnt know i would find footage with this ball in game. Appreciate the footage, never knew J.Kidd was so fast at his prime..

shit man, now 2016 there are no pgs who are as amazing as Nash & Kidd.

It is really hard to decide between those two who has better passing skill.

Something that should be pointed out, look who Kidd is guarding and then look who Nash is guarding. Kidd was guarding Nash and Nash was guarding Eddie House. Biggest difference between the two, Kidd could defend(though it didn't matter in this game, apparently) and Nash couldn't. Assist numbers are basically the same, scoring numbers are pretty similar, Nash won two MVP's, Kidd played in 3 finals and made more All NBA first teams, Nash's shooting was far better but Kidd's rebounding and, the ultimate difference maker, defensive abilities were far better.

Steve Nash is one of the greats! I know there is a lot of Nash's fans in here... and so sorry to burst your babble.. Jason Kidd was better. Just like Stockton was better than Kidd. MVP's? They don't really matter that much as MVP is decided on votes (so many coaches/journalist, etc can have different view). Nash PROBABLY should not have been an MVP twice, Kidd should have been once instead of Duncan, we can only argue... Significance lies in finals appearences. Let me tell you why: all time greats were there (without rings)... Stockton, Malone, Barkley, Ewing, Iverson, Miller Kidd not only has been there twice with Nets (laughing stock before his arrival) but won the championship with Dallas in '11 (old, far slower Kidd, not in his prime, but still with the drive and focused on the main goal). Main 2 things that have to be taken into consideration are: - If 2002 Kidd was in Nash's shoes in Phoenix, in his prime... based on what he has done in NJ... Phonix would have been in finals (if not more: think Stoudemire, Marion, Diaw, Johnson, 2002 Kidd) - Nash played with Dirk and a similar [if not better(Finley)] crew in Dallas... : no finals. Kidd played there : Championship. It is also about the expectations: Nobody expected Phoenix to be that good the season when Nash joined in and they reached Conference finals... BUT Nobody expected NJ to be even a playoff team when JK joined, and they reached the finals twice. Also, not a lot of people were placing bets at the beginning of 2011 season that Mavericks could win it all. Bottom line is... Steve Nash - all time great, hall of famer no doubt, won't be seeing a similar point guard for quite awhile, but did not have the X factor (and not even touching the triple double subject) that Kidd had. That drive, determination and captain's skills (on another level) that made him a 3 time conference champion and a NBA champion. I think Reggie Miller put it rightly: If you were a franchise owner and had a choice between Gary Payton, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash at point guard - Nash would be your 3rd choice. 'Nuff said.
