The former Aston Villa chairman Sir Doug Ellis has died aged 94. Ellis enjoyed two periods at the club, the first from 1968 to 1975 before returning in 1982. He left the club in 2006 after the club was bought by American billionaire Randy Lerner. A stand was named in his honour and he was made life president of the club
