My home does not exist to be a showroom. My home exists to nurture the memories made within.
If you have ever felt like you are less-than because of the way your home is, I hope this video makes you feel a little less than alone. We are not machines made to produce perfect, always-pristine spaces that don't show who lives there. Love is in the little things.
As always, I hope wherever you are you are feeling safe and loved. I'll see you with the next one!

ANY Squash Chili:
add butter to a pot, and throw in about 1 diced onion. Sautee until clear, and then add 1lb ground beef, and cook till brown. Put in approx 1tbsp of each: unsweetened cocoa powder, onion powder, oregano, chili powder, and smoked paprika. Add about 1/2 tablespoon of garlic, or as many garlic cloves as you like. Stir vigorously, then add 1 can diced fire roasted tomatoes, and any other tomatoes you might like. Add black or red beans, if you like them. Add 1 diced squash of your liking (pumpkin, acorn squash, and butternut squash all work well!). Top with a few cups of veggie or beef stock, and let simmer for an hour or until the squash is cooked to your liking.
Serves 6 to 8 people.

In a day where everything online is so curated it is so nice to see honest reality. This is the reality for the majority. Not the brand-new kitchens and fashionable furniture. You could choose to only capture "perfect" looking corners of your life, but you don't. You expose the chipped cupboards, dirty dishes, and general chaos of life; what a gift. There is romance in the reality of that imperfection. This is your house of dreams and we are so lucky that you allow us a window into it.

I am 73, I raise six children all gone, and my grandchildren are all grown up. Believe me when I tell you life is but a vapor ..my furniture is all vintage and even when I was younger it was vintage. I enjoy washing dishes so I took my dishwasher out years ago and made it a storage closet for dog food and recycling. It is so soothing watching you work in the kitchen, I hesitate to use the word work, lol. Thank you for another inspiring video. Have a blessed Sunday my friend. And yes please, I love the cleaning videos.❤❤

I'm someone who is naturally clean and organized. But the only thing I ever think when watching your videos is: "What a happy place! It must be so fun to be a kid there." Thank you for yet another terrific video.

One of the reasons I love your channel is because you are real. I can't stand fake, seemingly perfect, strategically edited channels. I like seeing your messes and struggles, because it's more relatable.

"My house does not exist to be a showroom, it exists to nurture the memories made within." This. THIS. Thank you. <3

Some of the best advice I've heard about home making/house work is don't do it to get it *done*. It will never be done. But rather, one needs to learn to enjoy the process.

Ever since I moved away from my hometown, I’ve felt pretty alone. Just two babies, my husband, and me. Your channel gives me the warmth a friend brings. Thank you ❤️

It’s quite sad that your channel is so refreshing. In real life I always see chipped paint, stained wallpaper and cracks in laminate floors but never see those things online.
@StephanieCanada
Listen, I am a constant ball of stress so I will always come watch these because you make them so calming and lovely. Bonus is that I know how good a hugger you are, and can confirm these give off the same vibes.
@happylittlespoonie
I'm cronically ill and pregnant with my first child, and this made me feel calm and less worried about the future! Thank you ☺

My beloved grandmother used to talk about “a tidy mess”. When we would visit, after dinner we would stack the dishes ready to be washed but she wanted us all to sit and talk, so she would say “leave the kitchen at a tidy mess and we’ll have a cup of tea”.

As a grandmother, I am reminded of a time when I had little ones hangin on my skirts& I was SO tired. A wise older friend told me that “A clean stable, is an empty stable. You are doin

I almost began bawling. This is EXACTLY the video I need. I am pregnant with our 5th baby and the housework seems overwhelming at times. Your audio over the footage brought such a feeling to my heart- like you SAW me, through my exact struggles, and gave me the hug that I needed. Please, please never stop making this video series. I feel like the more that I embrace slow living, my love for vintage & antique things, and work hard to focus of cherishing my children- with my boys’ challenging ADHD behaviors and neurodivergent brains- I find myself drifting further and further from watching RU-vid channels that show “aesthetic” living, with perfectly curated, unattainable images and childless lifestyles. Yours is the only channel I feel like watching, with its authenticity and beauty of reality. ❤❤❤❤
@Betty484
This video moved me so much. I rarely comment but I wanted to say that I loved everything about it. Your words, the music, the topic etc.. It felt like a good therapy session, that I needed. I will definetly come back to this video.
@LilaVert-FR
I'm single, don't have and don't want children, but I found your video a perfect hug on this beautiful Sunday. Your comments were so beautiful and warm, they made me realize homemaking could be something very different from what I thought. Thank you !
@tammieecho3098
Your videos are a warm, cozy hug. From your heartfelt words to your daughter’s joy as you pull warm cookies out of the oven that you made together… just beautiful!
@maribrown1361
Such a beautiful reminder. Kids grow up much too quickly & move on to lives of their own. What I would give to have some of those days back, messes, fights and all. It gets lonely with no little feet & voices.
@frauleinfancyvintage
This video is perfection 🥰 as a disabled person who also has brain fog I find it impossible to keep on top of things a lot if the times. I think growing up with a very house proud mum I had this ingrained idea of what a house ‘should’ look like and I’m trying to unlearn. Thank you for this vid 😊
@magdlynstrouble2036
Beautiful video! As a hand-on momma of 3 and now a 68 year old grandma of 5, vintage loving, retired La Leche League Leader, this is so relatable, confirming and indeed, just like a warm hug. Thank you, Kristina. 🥰
@roxannlegg750
In a YT world of busy, informative, loud fast paced videos, youre are water for my deep hurting heart and empty soul right now. So thankyou to you and Stephanie for some nice calming videos recently, while I try to cry away the grief and lonliness while I hope to heal. <3
