@@antidave yeppp it would look pretty but since this is an old show, they need to redo some scenes like yuri being weirded out by two men being in a relationship at the beginning. i'm sure that wasn't the intent of the author and would love to make it right, its just that back then these issues were't talked about much.

Yeah, the anime did a great job of cutting out every last piece of their relationship. In the light novels, Yuuri ultimately comes to accept the relationship in what was probably the only way they could publish such a thing at the time, though they go a lot harder on it in the canonical short stories.
