the fact that Tekken 6 came out on Xbox 360 back then was a huge announcement. The names Tekken and PlayStation were almost synonymous, at one point

I feel like every Tekken had it's distinct aesthetic and vibe, but Tekken 6 oddly just felt like another entry in the series that didn't do much.

It's interesting watching this video. A lot of the thoughts you have here, often people thought the opposite, mainly for the Gameplay and Characters. For gameplay, despite being the smoothest it's been, I remember people not really enjoying it because they reworked all the characters into being "homogeneised" in a sense of everyone got consistent jab frames ie 10 frame jabs instead of 8, everyone has a magic 4 that's high, etc. Characters like the Mishimas, got butchered by this so people who mained them were turned away. It was basically like going from Melee to Brawl. The Characters are quite beloved. Leo and Zafina in particular for things like being stance based, have more interesting designs (Leo being a fan favourite being non binary) and even Miguel and Leo, they weren't overpowered, but had a playstyle that people enjoyed and was pretty good if you stuck with them.

I actually really love Tekken 6. It was really fun scenario campaign offline and online, plus i still play this game to this day on ps3

I used to play Tekken 6 in the arcades and when it released on console, I bought a PS3 along with the game. This game will forever have a special place in my heart❤

The console port of this game had a ton of problems from a technical standpoint like load times and running at native 540p lol. But man competitively this game was the bomb. All the majors, MLG, tekken crash, what a time if you loved watching comp tekken. This was by far the most successful Tekken in Korea and the most popular arcade game in Japan during its reign as well. This game was where Tekken legends like holemen, rain, and knee made their names...

Its undeniably the best and most polished game in the series (aside from loading times). It is what tekken 7 could have been, but instead we got crap 7 and crap 8 with no tekken feel. Tekken 6 has a lot, and i mean A LOT of replayability, a massive roster, amazing soundtracks with some great stages. Customization has never been better in quantity and quality. Amazing modes, and one of the best ending cinematics. The only factual flaws it has is loading times, undubbed scenario campaign, inability to play scenario campaign with a buddy next to you, unstable connection when playing online, inability to choose the cpu partner in scenario campaign (without manipulating a built-in character pick for cpu), and inability to rank characters higher in ranking matches without playing online. thats all really. Would have been so cool to have other series in its arsenal like tekken 5 did. Only people who hate this game are the same exact people who love to swim in their sweat after every single tryhard game while shouting curse words like animals. Tekken 6 and Tekken tag 2 are the funnest entries in the series, and nt even casuals, people who really love to play the shi out of games, but not sweatlords enough to play competitive like crazy, enjoy Tekken for what it is, not competition sweating like its summer time, but laughing for crazy, ridiculous moves and epic moments you share with buddies next to you. Tekken 4 is not the most underrated anymore, it has been Tekken 6 for a long time. And it doesnt even deserve that spot because for how awesome it is, but alas, since its the most hated (mostly by the tekken 7 fanboys), it is the most underrated entry in the game. Here is my ranking of each series: 1. tekken 6 2. tekken 4 3. tekken tag tournament 2 4. tekken 5 5. tekken tag tournament 6. tekken 3 7. tekken 2 8. tekken 9. tekken 8 10. tekken 7 the only reason i placed tekken 8 above tekken 7 is because everything started going downhill since tekken 7, soooo... like i said, tekken 7 and 8 are not tekken at its core, no tekken touch, no feel, no soul. Just some long matches, and a lot of microtransactions (which btw most of you hate in say, minecraft bedrock edition, but accept it here, such hypocrites), which lock you behind a paywall if you want to use this or that character and stage. Just a few factual, undeniable massive flaws as to why tekken 7 and 8 are the worst entries in the entire game. you said in one of your comments there is no bad tekken game, but t7 and t8 are God awful atrocities that want to suck money out of you, and joy along with it. a vampire that doesn't burn during the day smh

For me Tekken Tag 2 is the best followed by Tekken 6. The online was amazing back in the day. It had the story mode, RPG and tons of unlockable. I would have so many friends that would stop down on Wednesday and we would battle it out all night. I've been a fan since Tekken 1 in the arcade.

12:14 A small correction. You forgot about Raven, who was introduced in Tekken 5. Lilly, Dragunov and a new Armor King was added in Tekken 5 DR. Great retrospective, btw! 👌

let me tell you how toxic tekken 7 community is. If you recall, t7 is more lenient towards online, and that can only mean one thing, competitive sweatlords trying so hard to win, and scream like they are monkeys in a verbal fight. With that said, whatever toxic player base has to say ,especially about voicing their opinions, has no value in it when they only care about themselves and not the fun and joy multiple people can get from the same, mind you, fighting game

Personally, I think 6 is better 5. I can't even remember 5 that well!

They should've called it Tekken Sucks instead of Tekken 6. Tekken Tag Tournament 1 is still my favorite even after Tekken 8.

& they also messed up the character models, 80% of the roster look ugly Look at what they've done to Paul & Jin

Tekken 6 was a low for me in the series because of 2 main things. 1. Introduction of air juggling in combat. Worst shit ever! 2. Introduction of Azazel! Fucking worst boss ever! Everything else was good to mediocre! Id play TTT2 a million times over 6.

My 2nd least favourite Tekken.
