Smoked my Cobbit Shire last night with Orlik GS. I love the pipe, but it tends to be a gurgler for me. Probably due more to my technique and tobacco choice than anything. I was smoking my Rossi Rubino Antica Zulu with Capstan blue while relaxing with you on my front porch, coincidentally next to a lake, although not as big as the one you were at.
It's a good blend (to my tastes) in warm weather. Mostly Virginia, so it has that lightly sweet, grassy thing going. Also has some burley and oriental, which round out the flavor. There is a slight topping of some kind, unobtrusive. It's a relatively light blend, but still interesting.
